Problem with hillsborough even if redeveloped is that it would still have the disaster as a big black cloud looming over it, if anything ever goes wrong at hillsborough the disaster is always instantly on the minds of everyone. If we want to develop and run more financially viable we need to move to a new state of the art stadium that’s cheaper run, preferably not on a flood plane and one that can host a wide range of events. We can’t keep living in the past. If this is our chance as a club to finally join the 21st century we must grab it with both hands and run with it otherwise we will fade into obscurity.

Other grounds have had disasters, I can think of ibbrox off top of my head. It’s what’s learnt from them and to tenner them. With the advent of time the pain and upset settles.

The flood plane can be planned for by building the pitch on a higher level. The mooted place of Attercliffe and Meadowhall is also a flood risk.

The teams run out today for the Derby and to be greeted by one off footballs great sights, a full and raucous north stand, while passing under a sign that says ‘This is Hillsborough’ is goosebump stuff. 125 years in the making. I can’t envisage the same when teams run out to a sign that says ‘Welcome to Meadowhall.’

If Hillsborough could be rebuilt, stand by stand and be suitable for large scale events, great, but I doubt the plot is big enough for a stadium worthy of a top Premier Club.

Just have a look at what they did with Croke Park.

I’m sure some Man City fans would’ve thought the same or Everton fans, but I bet they all love their new grounds now, hillsborough is limited not enough space to expand and very very out dated. Yes other grounds have had disasters before but none to the level of hillsborough. To this day any time some happens the disaster is brought up to this day they’re still going to court for it. Look at when Newcastle fans kicked off the other season, even though there was nothing wrong with the stadium and it’s was all made up, articles still kept going back to the disaster and the safety certificate had the maximum allowance of fans reduced.

For the record, you’ve taken TheSlicers words and quoted them as mine.

I’m happy for us to relocate elsewhere in the city if it means we progress

Sorry mate..,.I'm with you

Stood in the rain waiting for a beer for 45 minutes today while staff hand-poured Guinness out of one pump.

The facilities on the Kop are an absolute disgrace and the sooner we move the better.

Hopefully those 45 minutes were the whole of the second half.

Our ground is history and tradition.

Dinosaurs were part of the world's rich history, wonder where they are now?
