UDMURT Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Saw him play today. Wasn't at his best in a very "away" perfomace by Wrexham but still running for everything and always a threat. Possibly the worst thing beyond not paying people that Chansiri didn was forcing us into offloading players like him. 15 plus goal contributions a season is massively underestimated until you don't have it anymore. 1 3
prowl Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Windass was without doubt a quality player for us. I never quite took to him, I don't mind the arrogance, players need a bit of that sometimes. He just wasn't an appealing personality. I respected his qualities though and was sorry to see him go. Like others it wasn't his fault. DC was to blame and we should never forget that. Good luck to him for the rest of his career.
The_Ghost_Of_91 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago He scored some important goals for us so I have no ill feeling towards him. He got out from under our last owner when he could. Can't blame him for that. 1 1
Doctor Duran Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Was a great player for us in the last couple of seasons. Stepped up to being one of the senior pros We miss him in the team, things happened when he was involved, now we dont have that same edge / quality. Can't blame him for going.. just had a kid and needs to secure his family for the next few years. Bet he is glad what's happening tho. Great goals and memories. 2 3
BrotherOwlExile Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Just liked him throughout. Remember thinking What's happened to Windass - until he came back strongly in the next 5 - 10 games - etc, but always in it for the top games. Wembley final he buried it and I'll always be grateful for that moment as we stepped up; the pride of his father, Dean, afterwards also. So glad I saw it that day and he made that great day for the Wednesday. So who can blame him. . . too much. 1
Geörge Whitebread Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Talented player that almost always had a positive impact. I always quite liked his "arrogance" and enjoyed his humour, too, tbh. My only slight gripe was that he could've been so much better if he just has a bit more mettle about him. But nobody's perfect. 2
HopefulOwl Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Why some on here still have this negative opinion of Windass is beyond me. Very short memories... are you forgetting the goal at Wembley that got us promoted and subsequent season ending run that he undoubtedly played a part of with his goals. I'm pretty sure we'd be in even worse situation than we are now without him.. if that's possible. And to slate him for leaving.. come on.. he had no choice and had he been similar age to Bannan and Palmer then I'm sure he'd have stayed too. He should be given a hero's welcome today and show him the appreciation he deserves. 4
Think tank Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Deserves a positive reception. Good player for us and don’t blame anyone who left when they did. 1
Bluesteel. Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Don’t blame him for leaving. He had a great opportunity. But then again so did Bannan.
