Popular Post patolookalike Posted Friday at 10:43 Popular Post Posted Friday at 10:43 Talking on the fozcast - Barry Bannan best player he played with. - Loved Wednesday and Sheffield. - He offered to take a 50% pay cut to re-sign with us, DC said no and wanted him to take a 75% cut. -Bit on Jos Lukuhay not knowing how the Championship worked. Well worth a listen 1 9
Popular Post gtownowl Posted Friday at 10:47 Popular Post Posted Friday at 10:47 Great to hear the real story. Seemed a really good bloke as well as a brilliant player but took an unwarranted pasting from sections of the fanbase for leaving, when in reality it was another DC special. 3 33
Gob_Bluth Posted Friday at 10:48 Posted Friday at 10:48 Was just about to post about this, was listening to it on the way in to work this morning. Was very complimentary about us. Sounded like he wanted to go in more on DC but stopped himself 1 1
matthefish2002 Posted Friday at 10:50 Posted Friday at 10:50 I had a feeling after Chansiri went more stories of his unorthodox way of running the club were going to come out. 7

WimJunk Posted Friday at 11:16 Posted Friday at 11:16 I know he's retired now, but would have been a decent free agent signing.

Slap in face to every Wednesdayite that last game. Will never forgive. Plus 75% reduction (cough) of mega bucks for an old geezer is still a healthy wedge of cash. Although not maybe enough to run a supercar. He moved. Got what he thought he was worth and eventually had a part in Wrexham story so didn’t do too bad out of it all. 1 1

Leaving the final game issue to one side In all seriousness, if youre entering your last 2-5 years of a career, where 1 bad injury could pretty much end it...Why are you going to accept a 75% wage drop? Probably felt pretty insulted from Chansiri at that on a professional level and rightly so. By all accounts Stoke offered him a 2 year deal on £16,000 a week so why wouldn't he go? They're a long time retired. 3 28

And just to add to this, bearing in mind that he'd scored 13 goals in 27 appearances that season, accepting a 75% cut to his wage would only be all the more harder to stomach. 2 1 8
areNOTwhatTHEYseem Posted Friday at 11:57 Posted Friday at 11:57 Fletcher stood up to Chansiri like many others have done since. The last few seasons of his career were probably all the better for it. 7

If you'd been doing your job for a few years and your boss said you need to take a 75% pay cut to stay working here (or you could go somewhere else, do the same job and stay on roughly your current salary) what would you choose? The fact he offered to half his pay to stay with us is mad. Listening to him describe it in his words and how much he loved it here was interesting for me anyway 4 1 2
Popular Post Onge Posted Friday at 12:36 Popular Post Posted Friday at 12:36 Fans are still having a pop at individuals when the root cause of almost everything that's gone wrong with our club over the past decade is our former owner. This is how he held on for so long - scapegoating - too many fell for it, and seemingly some still are. 8 1 31
