TheWednesdayFC Posted Wednesday at 16:43 Posted Wednesday at 16:43 To be fair what would you expect him to say if he’s advising one of the bidders. You wouldn’t go and look at a 20 year old car that’s rusting and won’t start and say how amazing it is, you’d be focussing on what needs sorting out. 1
Southie_Owl Posted Wednesday at 16:53 Posted Wednesday at 16:53 I find it interesting he referred to his group and others as "bidders", meaning they are probably actually making a bid this week - rather than previously being interested and now walking away. 2 1 3
oh_weds_we_love_you Posted Wednesday at 16:56 Posted Wednesday at 16:56 Big club with big scale neglected for the best part of 30 years and as a result is available for a song will cost a lot of money to see a massive return on investment, shock horror. A club with a huge following and still one of the most successful clubs in the history of English football has high expectations (a properly run club with facilities for 21st century football looking to get back to the Premier League = high expectations?!), shock horror. Not the greatest first impression.

That's what happens when the club is run properly. Tbf that is based on exceptional expenditure from the fanbase combined with a low wage bill for the squad etc and very little outgoings other than the absolute bare minimum, it also requires them to get out by January for that to remain the case. Pretty much all clubs, including the well run ones, are loss making ventures. 1 1 1
swfcGibbo Posted Wednesday at 16:59 Posted Wednesday at 16:59 A guy who is representing a specific party is not going to go on national media and say it will be a piece of ******** and we are potentially a cash cow. He's playing the PR game nicely. Will be hoping to seed doubt into other potential buyers minds as to he severity of the job. Make no bones about it there's not many better opportunities right now. Perhaps Derby would be similar but I imagine the acquisition cost is far higher. 8

It's also based on front loading, meaning we've operated all this season so far with 2025/26 season ticket money gone before a ball was even kicked! Usually, that would be in the coffers for the months leading through this season to part pay monthly bills. 1

Chansiri spent the best part of 6.5 million season ticket funds before a ball was kicked. 2

BadBoy1762 Posted Wednesday at 17:12 Posted Wednesday at 17:12 Anyone done any digging to see if he's got and previous with "big names" and companies?

Kopparberg Posted Wednesday at 17:16 Posted Wednesday at 17:16 If this guy meant to say bidder instead of interested party then it’s a good thing. We all know that the Data Room 2 mentioned will be a good look under the bonnet, and I bet there’ll be stuff that people both expected to see and maybe also didn’t. But, it’s all good so far. I wonder if this guy is working with a UK group or foreign group, either way it makes sense for bidders to get opinions on people with football knowledge. So should be a good thing
