Ronnie Starling Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Maccabi Tel Aviv fans have been banned from Villa Park next month. The local MPs were lobbying for this and the SAG followed suit. 1
Popular Post g-owls Posted October 16 Popular Post Posted October 16 Seems to me that the local MP was the one calling out the loudest for them not to be allowed to visit… “Sports entertainment events should be enjoyed by all, regardless of their race, ethnicity and background”. Except the Jews - they're not allowed. Someone did this in the 1930’s. Nothing to do with safety - Ayoub Khan the MP for Aston, clearly has a problem with the Jewish. 1 1 1 1 9
Ronnie Starling Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 It seems that Robert Jenrick was right about Handsworth after all if Jews cannot attend a football match safely. 2

Popular Post Owl.1867 Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 How anyone can stand up for MTA fans is beyond me. First of all, is their well publicised behaviour. They've always been known as one of the worst sets of fans, even within Israel, and especially by anyone who's encountered them in Europe. Last year, they rampaged across Amsterdam attacking anyone who looked Arabic, including a lone woman on the train. They attacked property, whilst singing "death to Arabs" and going past schools singing about how there are no schools in gaza because there are no kids left to go to them. Then, the elephant in the room. If Russia is (rightly) banned from international sport, then Israel should be as well. Any support of Israel should be a complete social taboo, and yet even with a well-documented and evidenced genocide it's still the official position of this spineless government. Starmer popping up now to argue with this decision, utterly spineless. Their behaviour isn't new, it's been decades in the making and we continue to normalise it by having these thugs run around Europe and going completely unpunished. Good on Villa for making this call. 1 1 1 9
edinburghowl Posted October 17 Posted October 17 The correct decision. They brought Trump flags to the game, chanted racist slogans, smashed up Amsterdam, fought with locals, and frankly their football association should be banned from UEFA competitions anyway presently given their government’s war crimes. 3 6

Anthndav Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Should just reduce the numbers to a couple of hundred to enable better policing. Win/Win

Then why weren't Celtic banned last season with their pro IRA chants? The same IRA who bombed Birmingham? Trump flags, what's the significance of those? 1 1 1

The only issues are usually when visiting clubs with a strong right-wing (read: neo nazi) supporter group. When everyone else thinks that someone's sound, and you disagree (but agree with neo nazis), it's time to start looking inward. 2 3

It’s patently clear the message their fans are sending. Maccabi and Israeli clubs should not be in UEFA competitions anyway. Geographically they are not in Europe, and given Russian clubs were correctly banned for their government’s war crimes, the same rules should apply to Israeli clubs. Interesting that you only mention Celtic too. Should Rangers be banned for their songs? Or are they ok because it’s the UDA and they’re ’British’? 1 2
