People get paid for their knowledge and experience, not how much or hard they work.

Exactly this. And this is why I’m pink lint

His “donations” to various labour politicians has been well rewarded….its not what you know it’s who you pay for.

He was originally put forward by the Conservatives and his appointment was approved by a select committee chaired by a Conservative MP yesterday.

Misinformation? I read that he’s donated to various labour politicians. Did he not make the donations?

Personally, think he should be paid more.

I know people working in the NHS, a head of an educational Academy, and within local Councils, that earn more than that. Quite a lot more, as it happens!

Strange, nominating someone for a position that didn’t exist when they were in office?

It's taken years to get to this point. The legislation has been going through the commons a long time. Long before the current government were in charge

It has and finally passed in the summer of 2025, a year after the election.

The thing about his political donations is a bit of a red herring, surely? I'm aware that some have said it raises the question of conflicts of interest, but I don't see how professional football is party political, and this appointment isn't going to be a money spinner for him.

As to the salary, anyone querying it might want to suggest what they think it should be instead?
