What on earth is that heavy rock garbage song they play just before kick off in the second half?? What meaning has is for Wednesday?? Is it still 'Mantra' by Bring Me the Horizon? Good song if you ask me, although I've no idea why it might be considered relevant to Wednesday. Nearest thing to a reason I've ever heard is that the lead singer (born in Kent and lived a few years in Australia) was brought up in Stocksbridge and is involved in some club/bar ventures in the city.

areNOTwhatTHEYseem Posted Sunday at 12:14 Posted Sunday at 12:14 You don't hear this banger as much these days... 1
Leeds U from sheff Posted Sunday at 12:49 Posted Sunday at 12:49 Trust me...nothing is as bad as the song Leeds come out to at the moment. Like everyone else, we have to play the 'premier league anthem'. Then we play MOT before KO. Absolutely ridiculous and it gets boo'd at ER...not so sure about most grounds that have become accustomed to PL nonsense mind. 1

Before the game, they played what they called the Barnsley clapping song. I was embarrassed for them. Is this the one? I vaguely remember this being played somewhere before a football match. Played by Bob Kames and His Happy Organ. TWS on Facebook-er, missus!
Miffed Posted Sunday at 13:18 Posted Sunday at 13:18 That medley of songs we play before kick off is ridiculously bad. It gets the away fans singing more than the home fans, particularly when it gets to ‘Hey Jude’. On the flip side, I love the version of Waterfront with the extended intro. The initial guitar riff reverberating around the stands, like an Owl with call to battle…. The pause and then the riff again. It genuinely gives me goosebumps, then the bass line before the main riff kicks in. Love it, and it’s unique to us. 1 1 2

Like it too, just sounds a bit rubbish on our awful speakers. BMTH were formed in Sheffield, and the singer owns the Church bar on edge of Kelham Island. 2

Warhurstsleftfoot Posted Sunday at 14:53 Posted Sunday at 14:53 Seem to remember in the distant past that second half we always came out to Singing the Blues. Not original but got the crowd ready for the next 45 mins. Currently it's a non-event.
Devonstrix Posted Sunday at 15:08 Posted Sunday at 15:08 Plymouth’s Janner song divides opinion amongst some Argyle fans, but I think it’s one of the better anthems. Certainly better than Arsenal’s. Written by two local musicians, it eulogises about the 3 Plymouth towns, Plymouth, Devonport and East Stonehouse, the local landscape, Plymouth Sound etc and the crowd all sing loudly with most of it, especially when the lyrics say, ‘where everyone’s known as a Janner’. Janner! Janner! Janner! For those who don’t know, locals particularly dockyard workers, are known as Janners and it’s thought that Naval personnel may have created the nickname many moons ago. Proper anthem which can only be attributed to one club, unlike ours unfortunately.
Devonstrix Posted Sunday at 15:14 Posted Sunday at 15:14 Argyle still also run out to ‘Semper Fidelis’ an American marine corps anthem by John Philip Sousa. Very fitting given the Pilgrim fathers etc. 1
