Paddyowl Posted Sunday at 12:11 Posted Sunday at 12:11 A true gent who came along at the right time. RIP Milan x
Liam_Baggies Posted Sunday at 13:29 Posted Sunday at 13:29 Terrible news. His role at Wednesday should never be under estimated RIP Milan 1
royalowlisback Posted Sunday at 14:31 Posted Sunday at 14:31 Had a real soft spot for Milan. Just what we needed at the time and a very likable guy. In fact the only 2 owners/Chairman I ever really liked were Milan and Lee Strafford. 6

Given his controversial reputation, my relief that he rescued us from extinction was tempered with extreme apprehension as to his intentions and methods. I needn't have worried. OK, he didn't exactly splash the cash while he was the owner, but what he did spend was spent sensibly. Bills, wages and HMRC obligations were paid on time. He turned us round, and while we may not have been pulling up any trees in the league, we were more than competitive. The club was professionally run, and while it was never going to be a rich mans hobby he was always open and honest about it being an investment. What we wouldn't give for that sort of stability right now. If he was still around I'd have him back in a heartbeat. RIP Milan Mandaric. 1 6
Owl in Nottingham Posted Sunday at 15:47 Posted Sunday at 15:47 RIP Milan. An excellent chairman for our club.
Snowyowl61 Posted Sunday at 17:34 Posted Sunday at 17:34 Very sad news, at the time he took over he brought a little sunshine to a dark Hillsborough. Always a gentleman. RIP Milan. I shall never forget shaking your hand and thanking you for saving us before our away game at Derby just after you took over.

Can't have been easy dealing with the bank, shareholders and the directors especially Dave Allen but he got it sorted pretty quick when we were in the mire. Yes he obviously did it to make money but why else would he do it. We benefited as well as him. Good man and no way he could have foreseen what selling to Chansiri would cause. Yes he milked the adulation from the fans but he deserved it and also made some great decisions like employing Megson and then getting rid of Megson at the right time. Clever bloke and a decent person by all accounts. Rest in peace Milan

One thing I should have added to my earlier post is that whatever his personal motives, Milan left the club in a far better state than he found it. Something that will never, ever be said of our current owner. 1
TheGaffer Posted Sunday at 20:02 Posted Sunday at 20:02 I don't know if it's possible but could we organise a wreath from Owlstalk be sent? I realise relations with the club are strained to say the least but this man did actually save our existence as a club.
