1967owl Posted Sunday at 08:54 Posted Sunday at 08:54 A great, great leader for us. A proper Chairman. RIP Milan.
Popular Post Bassetts Allsorts Posted Sunday at 09:16 Popular Post Posted Sunday at 09:16 Met him after we won promotion from League 1 when we beat Wycombe 2-0. In a drunken daze, I somehow found myself in the directors box after the match sharing a red wine with him - I was sat in the North stand to start with! He saw the funny side to it all. I met him again at a sponsors dinner and he remembered me and said “oh it’s you the drunken guy who drank all my wine!”. RIP Milan 9 5
Popular Post jeffers9 Posted Sunday at 09:43 Popular Post Posted Sunday at 09:43 Best thing about Milan is that he was totally upfront. He always said, I shall save the club, I shall put things in place so that the club is sensibly managed, we shall have a bit of success and when the time is right, when I’ve done my bit, I shall sell the club for a profit. He never hid from the fact that it was about money. He had varying levels of success at Leicester, Portsmouth and Wednesday - he knew what he was doing. We mourn his passing, we appreciate a great football mind. Same won’t be the case when Chansiri passes. 1 1 8
Maidstone Owl Posted Sunday at 09:45 Posted Sunday at 09:45 Rest in peace Mr Mandaric. He got us fans and he seemed to genuinely care. How times change. 4 DEFUND CHANSIRI
beswetherick Posted Sunday at 09:48 Posted Sunday at 09:48 Will always be grateful to him for stepping in and buying us, and for the Mind The Gap season. A life well lived, RIP 3
markg Posted Sunday at 09:49 Posted Sunday at 09:49 Such sad news RIP Milan. A true and natural leader. Open and honest. Met him very briefly once at owls in the park and told him how grateful I was that he rescued the club. He was really humble. Sleep well Mr Chairman 3 1
markg Posted Sunday at 09:55 Posted Sunday at 09:55 Watched the under the cosh episode with Dave Jones last week and he spoke really highly of Milan as a person. 1
Nannan Posted Sunday at 10:05 Posted Sunday at 10:05 Never described himself as Chairman, or Owner. Only Custodian. "I'm here to put the club back on its feet". And he did exactly that in less than half the time the current idiot has been here. 1 4 Nannan's Owlstalk account is kindly sponsored by Sir Dave Richards...
BIG D Posted Sunday at 10:12 Posted Sunday at 10:12 Milan did ok out of Wednesday but he always treated the club and fans with the utmost respect and was an absolute gent. He was also someone who knew football inside out. The polar opposite to the silly c*nt we have at the moment. 6
Bob Posted Sunday at 11:42 Posted Sunday at 11:42 Never met him but he came across as genuine and a gentleman. I've kept his photo as my avatar since he sold us and will continue to do so, even when we get a new owner, after all he saved our club. RIP Sir.
huddsOWL Posted Sunday at 11:45 Posted Sunday at 11:45 Very sad news. Made SWFC respectful and steady again, always got the club and the fans and never made it or the club about him. Sad day, RIP and
longreach Posted Sunday at 11:46 Posted Sunday at 11:46 Oh for someone like him to take us over. Sleep well Mr Manderic.
Big Jack Posted Sunday at 12:09 Posted Sunday at 12:09 A guy who knew how to run a football club. Sorted the club out in a short space of time, unfortunately sold to the wrong person.
