alanharper Posted Saturday at 17:57 Posted Saturday at 17:57 How come I could instantly see it was definitely offside, from about 100 yards away and level with the halfway line, yet a professional match official with a clear view bang level with it, couldn't? 2 1
PortlandOwl Posted Saturday at 18:00 Posted Saturday at 18:00 Can't even be bothered to moan about such things anymore. 1
Tommy Crawshaw Posted Saturday at 18:18 Posted Saturday at 18:18 He wasn't only offside for the tap in, he was offside along with two more of their players when the ball was headed on from by Thomas-Assante from the cross. Wright was offside twice, Stevie Wonder could have seen that. 1
Concrete Owl Posted Saturday at 18:34 Posted Saturday at 18:34 0-2 you’re still in the game. 0-3 it’s gone. Atrocious decision. 1 2 3

I agree go in at HT 2-0 down and you still have a chance albeit a slim one. To go in 3-0 down like that was a kick in the nuts and game over. 1

Wasn't just the lino Steve Ogrizovic still couldn't acknowledge it after about 5 replays on the Cov commentary
wakefieldowl Posted Saturday at 18:51 Posted Saturday at 18:51 are you a referee lammy? Your justification is utter boll *cks! “yes I know it was offside but it doesn’t count” lol 1

I’m told that the linesman has watched the game back and HE CAN NOW SEE…. THAT… That some protesters were on the pitch in the second half 1
McRightSide Posted Saturday at 19:11 Posted Saturday at 19:11 (edited) It was an utterly rancid decision and a complete failure of the decision making process When they talked I was sure the goal would be ruled out, because I get the linesman didn’t see the touch, and I get the ref didn’t see the offsite So when he came over I thought it would just be the simple task of checking if he touched it, clearly the ref missed that too Really bad officiating Edited Saturday at 19:11 by McRightSide 1

It most definitely did. Coventry were by far the better side but at 2-0 we were still in with a chance, a longshot but stranger things have happened. Importantly we should n't just complain when the decision affects the result. A blatantly wrong decision should always be highlighted and this one was one of the most obvious and worst decisions ever. 3 sides of the ground (away fans weren't in a position to see it) knew it was offside, the players knew, all the media (including the Coventry media) knew. That they scored 4 more goals makes no difference, the ref and linesman were stunningly incompetent. 2

Kew Owl Posted Saturday at 21:08 Posted Saturday at 21:08 Clearly offside - but not exactly a game changer was it ? Coventry were strolling by then anyway
Tommy Crawshaw Posted Saturday at 21:18 Posted Saturday at 21:18 We could have gone in at 0-2, regrouped and come out fighting. While ever it's only two you're still in with a chance. That decision must have felt like a kick in the nuts to the players right on half time. Instead it was game over.
Kopparberg Posted Saturday at 21:25 Author Posted Saturday at 21:25 The Coventry player was on standby as to if it’d been allowed or not… then it was like “ahhh go on then, we’re not sure, so, have it”
