Didn't go to that one, did go to Charlton in January 1976 for the FA Cup round 3 (we lost). Cannot believe it's almost 50 years ago.

Wasn't that one where all the Millwall scum turned up and someone got stabbed with an ornamental sword ?? We were trying to get the Red Cross guys on duty to help him but they wouldn't come on the terraces

Came on the Wednesday end, only a few of them at the start of the game.  Car got turned on its side at the end of the match walking back to the coaches.

Cannot recall this particular game but clearly remember our league game at Charlton in October 71.(2-2 draw). Just after half time, loads of Millwall fans rushed into our end. Absolute mayhem ensued.

There was a League Cup game at Millwall in the mid 90s. One of their clowns ran on the pitch and had a verbal tirade at Kevin Pressman. Presumably said 'fan' shat himself when he got close and realised how big he was 😄

Indeed we did, in the 1975/76 season. This was played in Oct 76 when we were in the Third and they were in the Second after being promoted.

As a bit of "light" relief......

I was at this game, with a workmate who followed Millwall so I was with their fans but I don't remember any of this.

Anyone else remember?

No but my first game with my dad was Millwall at home October 79 won 2-0 and they set a fire in away end

27th October '76 League Cup 4th round, lost 3-0.

Wasn't there that night, but we'd had plenty of trouble with them over previous year. They tried to take the Kop previous season and eventually got turfed off and they'd got battered at Charlton in the cup a few months before (maybe 50 or so of them - the real nutters) when we took big numbers (c 4 or 5k) down there.

Fair to say at the time they were the most feared hooligans on a man for man basis but other clubs had much bigger numbers. I was never part of that scene myself but certainly witnessed most of it.

I was there but too young to understand why Millwall fans were on our end when we were playing Charlton.  I think I was just upset at the result.  The cup seemed to mean more back then.

The reason they hated Wednesday in the 70s was because of what happened at hillsborough 73 or 74 I think .. we beat them 4-1 but …

They brought a huge mob on the kop and “took it “ early on around 1.30 ish … Absolute nutters … remember them kicking Wednesday fans all over the place ….Word got back to the Ozzie Owl club ( was at the side of the ground) and all the Ebra lads came onto the kop and it went off big time….worst violence I’ve ever seen at hillsborough….Eventually millwall ran onto the pitch with Wednesday in pursuit ……Wednesday fans took the ******** .. saying they ran …….Millwall hated this and took revenge at Charlton away and back at cold blow lane …They Had a real problem with Wednesday all the way through the 70s/80s after that ……Different times in them days ..but the Ebra were a top firm in them days with real characters in it ………Met millwall fans since and they all confirmed it

I was at the Charlton game, from what I remember Millwall took another beating. They then took it out on the empty Wednesday coaches and put thru most of the windows.

What is it with Millwall ? Didn’t they smash up a tram a few years ago? Reyt ard.

My mates and I discussed going to the cup game as 14 year olds but quite sensibly decided against it.

Went to Palace not long after when we lost 4-0 plenty of Millwall showed up that night.
