You often hear "why don't they give x manager a go?" about some lower level coach when a big job is available. But then this can happen. Frank still thinks he's the Brentford coach. They're playing for set pieces. Its a good job for them that Vicario is quietly having a good season. Chelsea could have whacked 5 past them the other week

I cannot tell you how profoundly it affected the rest of the squad - training had to be abandoned several times because the players were in bits They had a harsh lesson in the really important things in life and as much as winning football matches is nice - it isn't really that important. Their form dropped off a cliff - went from challenging for the top spot in the division to just scraping into the play offs. I'm not making excuses for Liverpool but grief is incredibly hard for some to deal with Sorry to hear that. I have mentioned it before in this thread. Robertson was actually saying the other day that some of the players have been in a bit of state before games

Well, United’s problem is that there probably isn’t a position they couldn’t strengthen! Tough ask to do it all in one window. But the point being that Mbuemo is obviously a good player, with PL experience, and he clearly fits what they’re trying to do. And from the moment he signed, it was obvious he would be a day 1 improvement for them. I don’t think Liverpool have signed a single player who is such an obvious, unquestionable upgrade for them, which is pretty damning given the money. United still need to spend good money on a centre mid, although it helps that Casemiro has had a bit of a resurgence. Then again, maybe that’s not an accident. Maybe their midfield just happens to look a bit better when a functional front 3 means the ball doesn’t come straight back as soon as they get it forward..
SiJ Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Honestly, I'm wondering if Pedersen and Frank exchanged notes earlier today 1

The form of Casemiro has really saved them and its bailed out their midfield tbh. Slightly unrelated on Man utd but i wonder about them in a few weeks. Afcon takes Mbeumo and Diallo. Sesko injured. Cunha now possibly out too.
Skyline Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Keep forgetting Frank went there. I expected Brentford to struggle having lost him and some of their better players but they seem pretty comfortable whilst Spurs are still... Spursy
Owl_For_a_Lifetime Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Eze is proof of what can happen if you give young English / British kids a chance at higher level. From QPR to Palace to Arsenal he's kicked on and slotted in at that level like he's belonged there his entire career...

There's some good kids in the EFL 1
