BIG D Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Newcastle after Ramsdale which is a big of a surprise. He would have played under Howe at Bournemouth though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1w8nlr947no Also another interesting but in that article “It follows Newcastle agreeing a £27m fee with Burnley to sign James Trafford last week only for Manchester City to activate a matching rights clause and set up a deal to re-sign their former academy graduate.”
scram Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Dunno why Newcastle would be after ramsdale They have 2 better keepers already 1
MF TAZ Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I will be happy next season if we can just have a competitive race for the title after that…. If one team who came up can push relegation to the la at day that’s all I want
beswetherick Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Early prediction time… I feel like I’m falling into the Arsenal winning the league trap because they always bottle it, but they really look like they’ve got a strong squad now with quality in every position. Top 4 will be same as last season but maybe in a different order, can’t see anyone running away with it like Liverpool did last season though. I think those 4 will pull away further from Villa, Newcastle etc below them. Man U will sack Amorim and do the whole crisis thing again. None of the promoted sides will have enough goals in them, much hand-wringing will ensue over the closed shop nature of the PL. Gassama will finish as top scorer and player of the season after Rangers sell him to a PL club in January for £50m. 1
Night King Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Liverpool have recruited well so far. They could be even stronger next season. Be interesting to see his much Man U improve.
overlandandsea Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Liverpool and arsenal to battle it out for the title. Chelsea and city to make up 3rd and 4th. I think wolves will struggle this year but hopefully have enough to stay up as I have a soft spot for them. Sunderland and Burnley to drop , I reckon Leeds may just have enough…
TheEnchanter Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Sunderland spending north of £120M with Granit Xhaka soon to sign. Wow. What a difference a year and promotion to the Prem makes. We finished nearly level with them in Rohls first season. We are light years apart now.
HighworthOwl Posted July 29 Posted July 29 1. Liverpool 2. City 3. Arsenal 4. Chelsea 18. Leeds 19. Sunderland 20. Burnley I hope I'm wrong and Liverpool don't win it. Would also like Sunderland to stay up. Ideally Sunderland stay up to relegate Liverpool but that might be pushing it. 1
beswetherick Posted July 29 Posted July 29 My thing with Liverpool is their lack of depth at CB and over reliance on a 34yo Van Dijk - he’s brilliant but if he gets injured they’re down to Konate and Gomez who have both also had injury problems in the past. Remember when they last won the league and then dropped off a cliff the following season when Pickford crocked him.
TheEnchanter Posted July 29 Posted July 29 1. Liverpool 2. Man City 3. Arsenal 4. Chelsea 5. Newcastle Utd 6. Tottenham 7. Aston Villa 8. Man Utd 9. Brighton HA 10. Crystal Palace 11. Notts Forest 12. Wolves 13. Sunderland 14. Fulham 15. Everton 16. West Ham 17. Burnley 18. Bournemouth 19. Brentford 20. Leeds Utd
Skyline Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Newcastle reject £110mil + Addons offer from Liverpool for Isak. Sickening when you look at the state of us. One player worth more than the whole club.
