I could have got Australia tickets but didn't want to take away from local fans. Plus the football fan in me, well you don't sit in the home end. I'll try and pick some up on re sale, if not TV for me. I'll likely be busy with work that time of year. Depending if I'm still here, I'll try for England rugby league world cup tickets. No way England football play in Brisbane any time soon. Any idea if there’ll be some one dayers or limited over matches ? Have England released their warm up matches ?
Maddogbob Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I think all the limited over games are India and South Africa mate. I clicked around thr ticketing sight if I could get a limited over game with England. (Was kinda hoping one would have been on the Gold Coast, I used to live 10 mins from the ground9. I've not seen anything about warm up games either. Id imagine they would be Victoria or NSW based, if he very surprised if they tipped up in Queensland.
Maddogbob Posted September 12 Posted September 12 (edited) Scrap that, had a Google. Two warm up games. One in Perth and one in Canberra. If you want limited over cricket, the bbl might be on so id suggest looking at that, it's a cheap night out imho. While your over. You've also got the A-league on as well, if you really need to scratch that football itch. Edited September 12 by Maddogbob 1

Wasn't as painful as you might think. Lots of banter, beer and Ritchie Benaud masks!
bigash_swfc Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I have zero interest in getting ripped off going to a game. I think "dynamic pricing" is the wrong term for what we are seeing. The correct term is "course correction" The starting prices are absurd, but some will pay, to organise tickets, hotel, transport etc... The local host city, days & hours before the games, will then be privvy to $50-$100 dollar tickets to make sure attendances are high per game. So you'll have James from England, travelling and paying £3000+ for 1 game, but John from Canada will get to see the game for £40 as a neutral. I think my plan is to attempt to be in America for 3 weeks during the world cup, to atleast be on the same time schedule. 3 weeks in Las Vegas will probably cost the same as going to 1 England game?

I like the sound of that. Hope you get a job at FIFA in the the next few weeks

I wouldnt align with their thinking. Taking the game away from the working man or woman, in the name of greed isn't a job I'd like
Maddogbob Posted Saturday at 06:55 Posted Saturday at 06:55 (edited) Did Trump just effectively ban the Iranian delegation from the world cup draw? Edited Saturday at 06:56 by Maddogbob
Bannofan Posted Saturday at 10:19 Posted Saturday at 10:19 On the face of it, you'd say this WC will be a farce, but I thought right up until 6 months before it happened that Qatar 2022 would collapse with teams pulling out etc...ended up being brilliant football wise. Football always to find a way..Brazil corruption, Russia , Qatar..all with issues but it came rogether on match day.
darra Posted Saturday at 11:10 Posted Saturday at 11:10 They said on the radio the other day that because of the problems of high temperatures many of England's matchs may kick off after midnight UK time.

This one is 1 too many now though and adding in Trump who will make it all about him . And midnight kick offs our time means no sod will be watching anyway.
NYCOWL Posted Saturday at 17:10 Posted Saturday at 17:10 I was excited about taking my kids to a WC Game. But now I’m thinking we wouldn’t go even if we could afford it. FIFA is beyond repair. You would think that Blatter was still in place.

Always been the case for World Cups being hosted in the Americas, which used to be every alternate one until 2002, many games have been on after midnight European time. With the number of games being played now, I'm sure there's no way that they can fix it so that all the European teams play their matches later in the day due to the temperature. . Yes he has and fifa has folded like a temu deckchair They should tell the US that Iran gets reinstated or the WC won't have any games in the US Maybe trump should crown the US team as winners now...
