agentwalker Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Just watching the match at the moment. Did the commentator really just say their paying at Leicester's ground? What is wrong with that pitch,??
darra Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Saw about 5 minutes n the first half and Jamaica looked totally outclassed. Just seen they lost 7-0 and they had no shots on or off target. What did England get from playing the game? 1

It seems its an East Midlands thing Our (Derby) pitch was an absolute disgrace last season and we hosted the women's Cup final... which we didn't get many positive comments about. 1

Confidence before the tournament, more minutes in the legs… Sure the men played the same opponents before the 06 tournament in Germany. And look at how well they did… ah, ok, maybe you’re right
SnowyOwl13 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Jamaica made it to the last 16 of the World Cup in 2023, so they probably expected a sterner test than that. 1
Bannofan Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Sadly, and I say this as a big fan of the women's game, the profile and momentum the sport had after the Euros & World Cup has really dropped off. There's no new English 'stars' coming through, the older more know names are quitting. The domestic game is going backwards , Chelsea are just dominating everything, clubs are going bust, resigning from leagues. No extra money is being allocated by parent clubs. The abuse and misogyny is as bad as it ever was, social media just full of nasty tw@ts saying disgusting stuff, to the point a lot of players have quit all platforms.

Saw an article the other day online which said that attendances are slowly dropping.
scram Posted July 5 Posted July 5 (edited) Tough game for England to open in a generally tough group - Wales excepted Decent start from England - James looking like she's going to be pivotal Edited July 5 by scram
owlsfan_72 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Unlucky with that decision. Looked close. Amazed by how strong this group is. England are ranked 5th in the world, France 10th and the Dutch 11th.
