The annoying thing about that is that they've not done anything different to what they've historically always done. It's just been our utterly offensive mismanagement at board/chair level over the last 25 years that has seen us rapidly regress. Basically, they've stood still while watching us floor it in reverse. 1 1
marcx666 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I'd be nervous as s*it if we were being taken over by 100 people, who spent months trying to prove they could fund the club for 2 years, changed lawyers, had people drop out of the consortium, and all the other various issues. Hardly screams stable, wealthy ownership with the best interests of the club at heart. 3 2
SiJ Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Under Channers, we are hoping for a miracle promotion. Unfortunately, them lot are going to be as close as dead certs to get promoted for a few years (even if they somehow missed out this season, they'd be right in the mix next season). As for these new owners, time will only tell won't it. 1

Not too much criticism in the first couple of years. Look how well that's turned out. Takeovers can go any way.
Weshallovercome Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 They basically got United for free, parachute payments will pay for it.
leftpeg Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Consortiums can be great, or they can be a greek democracy that never gets anything done and just leaves the club ticking over while skimming a few quid off the top. But if dem blunts are only worth 105 million with a squad worth 4 times what ours is, and infrastructure paid for by multiple instances of failure payments theres no way we are getting sold. Chancer would want more than that for us and we dont even own our biggest asset anymore. How the fizz do we get rid of him without going into administration? 3 1

This is the thing for me - when prospective owners can buy a club well-placed for a return to the Premier League, with a record of investment into their academy and wider infrastructure over a couple of decades, and with a squad with several times what ours is, for £105m, why on earth would they be looking at us and even considering trying to negotiate with Chansiri? Our only hope is that Röhl somehow pulls off a miraculous promotion and we attract bigger bids as a Premier League club.

Röhl gets us promoted then we’ll be sold I’m convinced of it as there is no way Chansiri would spend what’s required in the prem. It’s still a mystery to me how each week at Röhl’s press conferences that Adam Shaw’s companies are still advertised on the blue board at the back of him. Is he getting free advertising or is he still involved in some way?
quinnssweetshop Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) Chansiri and Paxo have phooked this club up for generations Without doubt the worst thing to ever happen to this club. Every single glimmer of positivity is destroyed by their useless stewardship . Phook em !! Happy Christmas ! Edited December 24, 2024 by quinnssweetshop 1 1 2
SiJ Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Interestingly, the net worth of the new Dem Blades' owners is not really known. Appreciate net worth figures are often a bit dubious, but still. My impression is they're a group (about a 100?) who have managed to stump up the cash to take the club off the Prince. Long term, how that translates into spending and what not will be anyone's guess. Suppose that equation becomes a bit more straightforward with a further Premier League cash fall. Don't think we are talking supremely rich individuals though like those in charge of Fulham, Bournemouth etc. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Channer's original net worth was quite sizeable in comparison, but he's whizzed that up the wall hasn't he and now expects someone to reimburse him for it..

andrew1974 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Can only hope they've bought it like the Glazers bought Man United by leveraging the debt onto the club, but we won't be so lucky
areNOTwhatTHEYseem Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Does anyone know the level of debt that the club owes to Chansiri or his various companies now?
