When my dad passed away in 2013 in Southern Italy, I flew out for his funeral, I had an old Wednesday shirt he bought me when I was 11 (the 70s shirt blue with white sleeves) I placed it next to him in his coffin, I miss him so much

I have half my seat from the 1993 Wembley semi-final. It broke following the celebrations of Waddles goal and I walked out of the ground with it hidden up my jumper.

Lots of Owls programs dating back to 1945 to around 1976

Most MLS clubs have now gone to the PDF format match programs.  Saves a few trees!!

Portland Timbers have the best one in my opinion.  Lots of stuff packed into their matchday program.  Vancouver is sporadic - some games they have a decent program - other games not so much...

Not quite Wednesday related, but I once saved a horse. True story.

At the time I was working at a steel stockholders on Herries Road. I was 20. For reasons I can't remember, I wasn't driving this particular day. After work I walked to the bus stop outside of The Gate (now Sainsburys) and looked down towards the ground for the bus coming along. The traffic lights were on red and once they changed to green the cars coming towards me barely moved, slowly creeping forwards. As one car drew level with me, the passenger shouted "can you help us out mate" and pointed up the road towards Wadsley Bridge. Stood in the middle of the carriageway, was a horse!

What could I do? I had to help and I was somewhat used to horses as I'd ridden them since being about 14 so it was no big drama. It had a rope bridal on, so I took hold and led it off the road. I got plenty of thanks but now I had a horse. I'm not sure SYPTE would let that on with me! Then it dawned on me "Niagara" which at the time was used for police horses. So off I trotted (see what I did there) with my new best mate, down to Niagara, dressed in a suit and shirt and tie. I knocked on the window and a copper just glanced at me, and then looked away, ignoring me. So I banged on the window and pointed to the horse. He mouthed what sounded like something that rhymed with "clucking bells" and came out. As did several other coppers.

At first they didn't want to take the horse from me, but it was fairly obvious it wasn't mine. After a small amount of persueding they did and took my phone number (this was the 90s so no mobile phones then). They said they'd call me back once they'd found out where it had come from, which turns out to be just up the road at Fox Hill.

This is absolutely gospel truth and one of the most bizarre things ever to happen to me.

Genuine question. Does anyone bother with programmes anymore? I’ve got a right collection but I haven’t bought one for about 10 years. Surely they’ll be done away with soon

Quite a few non-league clubs near me have gone to a downloadable pdf programme and don't bother with a 'physical' one anymore.

There can't be long left for physical programmes, be it sports or the theatre - a few years max I reckon.

Downside would be that Siri/Alexa on your would randomly yell out "Programs 3 quid" if you forgot to download the PDF.

Joking aside - I like the PDF programs that MLS have adopted.  Love the Portland one (mentioned this earlier)...   The pages have useful links to transit info... video features etc..

I've got an original 1920s 'Romance of the Wednesday' book that was my Grandad's, then my Dad's. When Dad passed on, it came to me.

Tucked away inside was some material he'd kept about the building on the North stand.

I'm keeping it all very safe in tissue paper now, until eventually it'll go to my lads.
