Popular Post Lord Snooty Posted April 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2021 I'll tell you what. I'm glad it's back. Yes, I know, it's been a terrible season, and yes, I know, by 4:45 I'll likely be back in the doldrums and wishing the season was already over and swearing I'll never watch the clowns again. But..." Well, absence makes the heart grow fonder doesn't it and with two games without defeat, a win over local (promotion chasing) rivals sitting in the old memory the world takes a different hue. I went into the International break with a bit of the old spring arriving back in the heel. Darren Moore will also have had 10 vital days training with the chaps. Ten days of recuperation for those that needed it, and some vital team work to instil his methods. Impart vital information. Dare I say it. I'm in positive mood! Ravel Morrison won't be signed, Darren Moore says it would take him a while to get up to speed. What a refreshing change! Usually when we're linked and a player arrives and they look miles behind, we sign them anyway. Who was the chappie from Derby on Loan the other year? Butterfield! Crikey, he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, and the weight of several kebabs in his belly. He could still be playing now and wouldn't have looked match fit. Also interesting that Moore seems to have had the say on this one. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it. Perhaps the Barnsley win has me looking at the club a bit more through the old rose tinteds than experience should allow. But it would be a step in the right direction if it was the case that the manager is deciding who is and isn't right for the squad wouldn't it? On paper of course, we're in for a walloping tomorrow. But then we said that about our visit to the six fingered neighbours and look what happened there! Jordan Rhodes at the double! Seizing on quick, direct supply into the box. Who'd have thought it.. IN A SEASON WITH SUCH A PAUCITY OF ATTACKING OPTIONS WE SIMPLY HAVE TO MAKE USE OF THE BEST GOALSCORER ON THE BOOKS Hopefully he can do the same tomorrow against a team that he might well have been playing for if they had offered us more than a bag of marbles and an old copy of Readers Digest. Yes, these International breaks are certainly good for one thing. They make you miss 'proper football'. Until normal service is resumed anyway at least. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATFORD V's WEDNESDAY April 2, 2021 KICK OFF: 3pm @Vicarage Road ---------------------------- Automatic promotion contenders Watford will be looking to extend their winning run when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Vicarage Road on Friday afternoon. The Hornets have won five matches in a row and occupy second place heading into the final stretch of the season, while Wednesday are in the relegation places. The Owls are now unbeaten in two, having also played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, and are six points adrift of 21st-placed Birmingham City with a game in hand. Moore's men quite simply need to put a winning run together if they are to bridge that gap, but they are winless in their last four league games against Watford since 2013. ------------------------ WATFORD TEAM NEWS -------------------------- Tom Cleverley is back available for Watford after returning to training this week, while Ismaila Sarr will undergo a late fitness test after struggling with a hamstring issue. Captain Troy Deeney is moving closer to a return to action, having missed close to two months, but this game will come too soon for the striker. Fellow attacker Sema is a major doubt, meanwhile, as he started Sweden's World Cup qualifier against Estonia on Wednesday. WATFORD POSSIBLE-: ------------------------ WEDNESDAY TEAM NEWS -------------------------- Wednesday, they are expected to be without a number of first-team players for this trip to Vicarage Road. Keiren Westwood was forced to pull out of the side that beat Barnsley due to an injury in the warm-up, but he should be back involved here. Cameron Dawson, Moses Odubajo and Chey Dunkley are all sidelined, but Joost van Aken, Jack Marriott and Sam Hutchinson have a chance of returning this week. Striker Rhodes seems certain to lead the line after scoring three goals in his last three Championship games, which is as many as in his previous 33. CalmJimmers Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Time to poo or get off the pot Wednesday. The time is now, put your plums where your pecker is. 4
Lord Snooty Posted April 1, 2021 Author Posted April 1, 2021 (edited) I've gone with the predicted side But if it was me personally. I'd make a change. I'd have Urhoghide at RWB. I think he's started to show that bit of intent with his bombing on. Also bring Hutchinsons experience into the back line at Right centre half. Edited April 1, 2021 by Lord Snooty 8

pazowl55 Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Watford have had a few players play the full 90 mins in internationals on Wednesday I believe. Possibly a good time to play them.
CircleSeven Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 On paper this should be a good old fashioned kicking for us. But the Barnsley game was also nailed on for a battering so I’m going to approach this with a sense of optimism. 0-0. Rhodes to miss three Penalties (one either side of half time plus one on 94 mins). 1
FreshOwl Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 We’ll either sneak an ugly win, or get battered. We bloody need the win, please Lord our saviour.
