Guest Bulgaria Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 You just know that there will be a group of fans at the first game under the new owners wearing white robes.

TheEnchanter Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Newcastle fans are absoloutely creaming at this. For years theyve been amongst the mardiest fans in the land thinking they deserve the world even though they've won **** all for decades. They'll happily sell their soul to these 'good, generous, kind, moral' new owners. Football will cover up more of the worlds ugly side and we will all clap and enjoy what a product the premier league has become.

But obviously nice to have it You can still spend and make a loss within a limit, I think this has been a sore point for their fans as they've seen other clubs spend money excessively when they've been almost working to a sell to buy ethos. Prior to Joelinton and Almiron their record signing was Michael Owen for £16m in 2005. Don't necessarily agree with the stance on money but Ashley has been pretty terrible with their managers and renaming St James Park.

steelcityowlsfan Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Obviously there are serious question marks over there new owners but fans being fans will just see the money side of things. Billionaire owners seem ten a penney now don’t they? I like some others wish football was regulated properly and we had a salary cap for all leagues. It’s too easy for rich owners to turn clubs like Man City and Chelsea (let’s not forget before money took over the game, Wednesday had won more than both of these teams) into champions of the PL. Newcastle are a very well supported club but haven’t won anything for years. Like some other clubs including ourselves unless they drop on an exceptional manager, they were always swimming against the tide (until now). A salary cap would allow the bigger clubs to fight it out, not the richer clubs to dominate. This break in football has rammed home how money rules the game and ruins it in equal measure. 30-35 years ago they would have already cancelled the season IMO. 1
fudge27 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I'd look at moving to a salary cap like the US have. Right now there is the odd exception, but football just isn't fun generally, it's predictable on the whole who will win what. A general cap with further allowances allowed dependebt in income (like a rejigged and better ffp) across all the divisions and Europe. But it'll never happen. God knows how the league run by all these businessmen let's the players take so much money that could better benefit customers as the fans are these days. 1

Dont see what's wrong with renaming the stadium, the branding put up was to show what they could do to market a potential real stadium sponsor bringing in more money. If it wasnt for sponsorship Arsenal's ground wouldn't have a name.
FroggattOwls Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Lot of people now throwing shade at this take over, wait until they realise there is a actual member of the Saudi Goverment who owns and runs a PL club.
FroggattOwls Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Also isn't there a direct conflict of interest between the Saudis owning TWO PL clubs ? When Newcastle play Sheffield united......
