Sheffield - Manchester Picadilly - Preston - Burnley. Sheffield - Manchester Victoria- Blackburn - Burnley No direct train from Manchester. A right pain in the arse as it does look like there is works on the line between Hebden Bridge and Burnley (thats both Burnley Manc Road and Burnley Central). Edited January 5, 2014 by Shifty Powers

Shifty Powers Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Are they avoiding the bus leg? As far as I can see. Just looking at Manchester Victoria - seems you have to go to Manchester Picadilly anyhow to pick the metro and then it goes onto Victoria, so your best bet would be just to go straight to Picadilly- Preston - Burnley. went a few years ago and changed at Leeds seemed ok good sing song on the way home train was heaving won 2-4 when leon bagged a couple of beauts Great away day - Leon Clarke was unplayable that game.
ffs owl Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 got my tickets today from midland station £13 return, any time , thats with a railcard £30 for year for family and friends, change at stockport then strairgt on to burnley ( manor road )
Groundhopping Owl Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Normally you would just change in leeds, but the line's shut between halifax and burnley so unless you fancy a replacement bus you'll have to change three times I'm afraid.
Guest BirdonaMaguire Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Change twice, daft thing is you'd prefer a beer in Manchester anyroad.
Guest PointlessOwl Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 So what's the crack here? Sheff Manch Burnley?
Owl in Manc Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 got my tickets today from midland station £13 return, any time , thats with a railcard £30 for year for family and friends, change at stockport then strairgt on to burnley ( manor road ) There are no direct trains from Stockport to Burnley!!!!!!! You might have to re think your journey!
ffs owl Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 looking at my tickets as i type this, says sheffield to burnley ( manor road ) via stockport !!! , really confused owl in manc !! do you know otherwise ??
Guest BirdonaMaguire Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 It means you don't go via Leeds that's all, you will change at Manc and Preston.
