I was at a club were a player died. I cannot tell you how profoundly it affected the rest of the squad - training had to be abandoned several times because the players were in bits They had a harsh lesson in the really important things in life and as much as winning football matches is nice - it isn't really that important. Their form dropped off a cliff - went from challenging for the top spot in the division to just scraping into the play offs. I'm not making excuses for Liverpool but grief is incredibly hard for some to deal with

I totally disagree it was apoor pass to Valery It was straight to him at the right pace and on his safe side - Valery lacked the awareness to turn away from danger and instead turned straight into it - it was also really ponderous and lazy I really don't get way some fans think that professional footballers shouldn't pass the ball to each other Obviously there are times to just get rid but that was a decent enough pass and if Valery had dealt with it like you'd expect a professional to then we could have broken the press We're look apoor team making poor choices No redeeming feature from that game

🦉 v ⚔️ The Steel City Derby: Official Matchday Thread

Definite penalty I understand if if the ref doesn't see it but he blew for it Need something to go our way because we're way off -
Which plays right into a problem that hasn't just unexpectedly landed on them Their fullbacks have needed an upgrade for a while - and yes, i include TAA in that because he's defensively pony when played as a fullback They have one defender worthy of a team chasing Pl and CL titles And even VVD has seen better days

What’s the timescales of the injured players ?
scram replied to Kopparberg's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Players weren't "tougher in the old days" But we are more enlightened now - we have a lot more information on just about every metric of a players health And the game is much quicker and more intense - the players are way fitter and stronger (for the way the game is currently played) and thus the margins are much slimmer Maybe some old timers could effortlessly adapt to modern training methods and games Maybe some modern players could adapt to the game of yesteryear But we are where we are -

After showing some signs of revival city come crashing back to reality with a pedestrian, tepid display. Another team that suffers from a defence that won't stand up to examination. Currently doesn't seem arsenal have any challengers

Liverpool fur away with their defence last season but it wasn't great then Send Slot did try to do something about it but lost out on Guehi at the list knocking They all seem well off the pace and if we didn't know better it works be safe to assume Salah win a lottery prize to have a go in the team I'm wondering how much the death of Jota might have kicked them off course

Leeds come barging into the conversation...

Especially if they could all be in our group...

Denmark have been really wasteful They might get away with it but I think they're poor defensively Thought the pen was harsh - definite foul but not sure it was inside the area. The 2nd yellow was abysmal Interesting last 10.or so

Much more likely to grab a goal as well -

That's going too far imo He's but a major issue at all He is a bit rusty still after his injury lay off and he's playing his way to fill match sharpness and fitness. He did look a bit leggy and less clinical than we've come to expect but there were plenty of signs of the player we know is in there. I think Rigers had done well - Palmer has to be in the conversation but at his best Jude stands above them. But we have options which is good I also think all 4 defensive positions are there to play for - the only one I would say is guaranteed is Geuhi when he is back fit again. Wide left is up for grabs although I would prefer a revitalised Rashford in that role - and although not quite at his best he is heading in that direction -
Scotland are very much Jekyll and Hyde The good is very good while the bad is excruciating Obviously they're not a top team but they can raise their game to a level that I think will see off the Danes at Hampden But I also wouldn't be surprised if they get roundly beaten Will the real Scottish football team please stand up...

I also think TT knows we don't have a replacement for Kane so he is looking at how we can adapt without him should he not be available It doesn't look healthy but at least he is considering it - he knows direct replacement isn't an option so he's looking at how he can restructure the team dynamic - he tried at Wembley with the Bellingham/Foden "false 9" combo which although seemed to create space and chances - the irony being it needed Kane to capitalise... But at least TT has recognised the issue and is trying to seek an alternative should it be needed -

I think Bowen is likely to be a victim of the chop when the final squad is announced -

He doesn't get enough credit in some quarters Because some folk seem to prefer to seek out any negatives Like when he misses a chance or doesn't have good game - which happens to all players But most players in history don't deliver as reliably and prolifically as he does So we have to overlook the negatives imo because the positives hugely outweigh those -

We're as good, if not better, than any team in midfield and attack But our defence and keeper will likely be our achilles heel Tonight is such an experimental side it can hardly be evaluated though -
Both teams could have scored 6 Some of the worst defending you'll ever see but since best goalkeeping at both ends Fair play to Scotland for making a game of it after they were seemingly sunk

At least TT had identified the issue My opinion is that Jude will get into the team - foden isn't in his stratosphere Cole Palmer would be the nearest to Jude otherwise I like Rogers but when everybody is fit and played in I'd see him as the third option in that role -
Good to see City back on track Still think arsenal have the strongest overall package So if it comes down to mental strength who holds their nerve City have demonstrated that have the nerve See how it unfolds
