  1. Either way, the 582 page thread evokes memories of the bilsaja days and 2am posts from ITKers etc. Nowadays with AI, I wonder if someone can do some analysis on the 582 pages and quantify the % of nonsense vs the actual subject at hand. That said, I fully expect the actual subject to turn out to be nonsense in the main. It will eventually get closed when Neil decides to post about us signing another 34 year old journeyman for his last payday, and normal service will resume as we look forward to another season hoping to avoid relegation. I hope to be wrong.
  2. I remember not so long ago, us playing Palace in the last game of the season for us to stay in the Championship. I can only dream that in 15 years from now we also lift a trophy once more!
  3. A lot of new troops to come in for next season. The lack of quality in defence cost us big time. But now the challenge is a bunch of our attack (and midfield) will need replacing also. 7th in goals scored says we scored enough, a few crucial goals short would have got us close to top 6 finish. But the goals conceded at 4th worst would have provided many more games to pick up points if we could improve. Need to replace Windass (not easy) and Ugbo, and Smith up front. Need a new Musaba out wide. Need to replace Shea Charles (not easy) in Midfield. Need a whole new back 3/4?
  4. End of the day, stat's don't lie 7th best attack in the division 4th worst defence in the division Most will agree we had good keepers. Therefore, it comes back to preseason when we all saw the players coming in and the whelm factor wasn't there. That's this season. For next uts a different requirement as many of the squad are or need to move on. A couple of bright spots in Gassama and P Charles but we basically need at least 6 new starting players, and maybe more depending on outgoings.
  5. If we sign one more quality player I will be over the moon. If we could finish we would be in 3rd or 4th right now without much more. Ideally we sign a quality defender and we're done. Now would be a really good time to sign a new Bougherra.
  6. HMSPTL coming up. We know the chairman could maybe have spent more before now, but on the other hand, he's been burnt before now. How can we not be confident with 1/3 of the season left, in touching distance, to be in 5th or 6th come the end of season!!!
  7. Let's be honest, one defender and a striker would get us up. We control games and then either one screw up at the back, or a bunch of failed chances kill us. We'll sign one player and finish 7th.
  8. Hi All I will be in Germany in March when the Steel City derby is on. Will I be able to watch it at the pub if it's on TV? Cheers
  9. Neither of them are winning the last game so it doesn't matter who wins or a draw, so lo g as we win one of the last two, preferably tomorrow.
  10. Blackburn playing for a draw, let's go fo the win boys!!
  11. Oh how we long for the day when someone like SAF says they think SWFC deserved their point against Man U in the EPL!
  12. Absolutely,, first aim needs to be to beat and then catch QPR on the table. Come the new year, our goal then is pretty simple - overtake QPR and whoever is 21st on the table. Grim as it is, how happy would we all be come May to be in that position compared with just a few weeks ago. However, looooong way to go.
