  1. Yes probably. I don't ever post on here but I may go to the first game of the season because it might be one of the last chances I get to go with my daughter. She's off to uni this year we've been sporadically over the years together she played grassroots including for swlfc. So we haven't always been able to makes games. Time money effort etc etc. but I won't let Chansiri steal one of the final moments of her being my little girl. I won't be going again after that
  2. Think pato thought his legs were gone so probably didn't feel confident. Tough on Liam but that goal in the playoff final makes up for everything
  3. Hi I know you are contact with readings protest groups and there are other group at various clubs. Would a one off day of protest at multiple clubs be anything that could be organised? While each club has it's own core problems, there is synergy between all the groups. Not fit a proper Fine and points deductions hit fans not owners Etc etc It could get some additional national attention. I would say do this alongside our own specific protests
  4. I think Dave (swlfc chairman) looks on here. My daughter plays for one of the junior teams, Ive heard a bit about his meeting with chansiri, it's quite funny really. They are just a grass rots team. The association with Wednesday is more of burden than help. Lack of sponsorship having to buy kits cost of presentation night. If swfc are really interested in creating a women's team then I think it needs rebuilding from the ground up. Maybe make the current iteration a community team and look at how a new women's 1st could be created. One that can help and contribute to the great work swlfc has been trying to do. United are.miles ahead. They have the rtc they have invested.
  5. Daughter plays for them great setup and great coaches
  6. That's brilliant, never seen it before.
  7. You get a new kit every other year from the club I don't know how much swlfc pay swfc for this or if it free. They do a lot at a grassroot level for the game. One of the people running swlfc is actually the secretary of shcwgl (local female league) They do the best they can. With little to no investment and players pay subs to play
  8. Absolutely not true. I dont post on owlstalk (well may be once in every five years) i'm involved in the grassroots girls game and have had the opportunity to speak to pros in the female game and have watched SFC ladies over the last few seasons, The female game is very welcoming. its a good standard you get no rolling around when theirs contact a bit of fisty cuffs every now and again it seems to be more at the 80 / 90's level of mens football with more fitness but more of a pure game. i dont know how to multi quote but LSowls Yes totally agree SFC offered that
  9. SWFLC is not directly associated with swfc more of a community team. SFC have had to drop out of the championship this season due to the mammoth financial commitments required. I heard the SUFC are struggling already with there new team. The women’s game is in a worst state than the men’s financially with the elite clubs buying there way in and the teams that established the female game being swept away for big name men’s team. Looks at donny bells. The girls game is really doing well. Every season more and more participation more clubs adding girls team to there rosters. It is putting a strain on facilities though as there is not enough 3G pitches available that players can get to.
  10. thanks :) is the problem being a Wednesday fan???? I was thinking middle of the north. I really want her to enjoy the match day experience and want to got to every game and not just be another kid on the iphone while her dad watches the game. She proper got into the leeds game on sky so that a positive
  11. Hi, Long time reader never post. I'm about to take my 6 year old daughter to her first game, something I've been looking forward too since she was born, as my old man never took me! But where is the best place to take em, I'm always flipping leathered on match day so never really notice kids about, I can hardly focus on the pitch (makes watching em more pleasurable) so where is best to go? decent atmosphere but not too intense. don't want to much naughtiness but also not dull as flip. BTW i'll be sober ..... a bit scared as it will be the first time since the 90's I've not drank at a game
  12. I never got the Humphreys thing, he played left back at newfield and never pulled up any trees. he wasn't even the best player in the school team, don't get me wrong I was proud and some what jealous that a mate from the year below me was banging them in for Wednesday but I always wondered why he never played up front at school
  13. HI long term reader never a poster Never got Ritchie playing for wednesday he was a left back for Newfield - i was in the year above him.
