Your 3 points next Friday
Tapeworm replied to Safcfaninpeace's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Seriously wouldn’t worry @Safcfaninpeace. We’ll probably create 5 golden chances and take none and you’ll score with your first sight of goal. Also saw your keeper seemingly struggling to deal with corners, well again no need to worry as we’ll probably have 7/8 corners in the game and not win a single header or fashion any kind of a chance. Poveda to score the winner to really sum it all up -
he’s a winger and therefore will always be one of our main threats on the pitch. The fact of the matter is that we need him to deliver and he didn’t put a single ball in the box despite getting in some dangerous positions. Honestly think Gassama is twice the player but is always overlooked instead of Musaba - I don’t understand why.
-
He was abysmal as he was against Sunderland but always seems to get 90 minutes. Baffling.
-
He was sensational. Thought both he and Gassama down that right hand side were excellent - Plymouth couldn’t deal with them.

Hoping this is a good turnout 29k+

4x Tickets for Bannan's Charity Night (Sunday 3rd March)
Tapeworm replied to Tapeworm's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Just bumping this thread. -
Morning All, *Please move to appropriate section if needs be* We booked a table of 10 for this event and unfortunately we've had a couple of drop outs. This means we now have 4 spots available on the table if anyone is interested? Details of the event are below and ideally looking for face-value for each seat (£100) - just drop me a PM if interested. https://www.tickettailor.com/events/thechildrenshospitalcharity/1027952

He was one of our best performers last year and actually has an ounce of intelligence when he has the ball at his feet. The question is his fitness not his quality.
-
All correct decisions - well done Wednesday!
-
There are new blocks open. Just sorted mine on 524.
-
He's just a good footballer who could do a job anywhere on the pitch. Couple of dodgy headers (which are forgivable with who he was up against) but his use of the ball was excellent. Just wish he wasn't made of plastic!

Man of the Match - Peterborough away
Tapeworm replied to Lord Snooty's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Absolutely no idea how Vaulks is coming out with any credit from last night - he was absolutely appalling and his poo half tackle caused the first goal (which Dawson should have saved). Johnson, Vaulks, Smith & Palmer were horrendous - wouldn’t give any of them more than a 3. -

Yeah he really struggled on Saturday. He put the effort in as always but his use of the ball was awful. -
Without McGoldrick I think they'd be lower mid-table. He was the only bit of quality they had on Sunday - the rest were distinctly average.

Dawson - 8 Did everything well. Palmer - 7 Another steady performance. Iorfa - 6 Lost full concentration for the last 20 minutes. Flint - 7 Solid. Brown - 6 Actually improved second half but looked abysmal in the first. Johnson - 5 Definite dive and was poor throughout. Vaulks - 8 MOTM looked like he was playing at 100% and nearly scored. Bannan - 7.5 was excellent in the second half. Smith - 7 Good pen and did ok. Paterson - 3 Was absolutely woeful yesterday. Can’t recall him completing a pass and missed a header from a yard out. -
Haha I love these threads when you get the “don’t know where the criticism comes from” comments after a player has a good game. He was absolutely appalling last week against Exeter but was excellent today. Well done for bouncing back Michael.

Players that should go somewhere else
Tapeworm replied to south_wales_owls's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I can see you're getting pelters for this but I agree in some way. Johnson's use of the ball in general possession is absolutely horrific but then he always seems to put in a couple of crosses per game that we end up scoring from. He drives me insane but then we don't really have anyone as competition given James is constantly injured. -
Just wanted to say well done to the fans

Totally agree and the irony here is that we basically swapped him for Bakinson who was at Ipswich last season and their fans didn’t rate him! Fair play to Ipswich though, I thought they were excellent in the 2nd half at Portman Road and it seems they’ve performed to that level ever since. -

If anyone gives Smith more than a 3 you can’t have watched the game. He offered absolutely nothing and hitting the post from a yard out summed him up. Please someone explain what he offers!? Was a rough watch and to be honest I’m not sure we had anyone worthy of a MOTM. -

Thought Gregory's hold up play was FAR better than Smith's last night and was amazed he was hauled off instead of Smith. For me their were only 4 steady performers last night - Flint (MOTM), Bannan, Gregory and Palmer. -
Man of the Match & Player Ratings vs Burton (A)
Tapeworm replied to Emerson Thome's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Amazed to see Vaulks scoring fairly well. Got outjumped by Brayford for the goal and his left footed effort that cleared the stand summed up his afternoon. MOTM was Bannan again even though the ball went over his head 95% of the time. We really would be mid-table without him. -
Palmer has to move in to the back 3 as Flint must stay central and Famewo is too left footed to play on the right. James should start against Bolton and have Marvin on the bench - it was his own stupidity for getting suspended in the first place so he needs to earn his place back in the side. James was excellent in the 2nd half at the weekend.

Dawson - 7 Couple of good claims from crosses but a number of poor kicks nearly cost us. Palmer - 7 Solid as ever. Iorfa - 7 was having a good game before a soft dismissal. Flint - 8.5 MOTM - what a beast. Famewo - 7 some good tackles but he is so slow on the ball at times. Brown - 6.5 Did ok but a silly tackle and was rightly taken off at HT. Vaulks - 7 unspectacular but good enough. Byers - 7 started well before the injury Bannan - 8 he’s just too good for this league. Smith - 7.5 One of his better displays. Held the ball up well and great assist for the goal. Wish he had slipped Windass in just before HT. Windass - 7.5 top quality finish, should have had another. FDB - 6.5 put himself about but needs some confidence back. James - 8 thought he was quality and should start against Bolton. Gregory - 7 Held the ball up and nearly scored.
