I think people are being a bit naive with their suggestions, instead needing to more consider what is actually likely to have a considerable uptake amongst our fanbase. Hopefully the Trust have access to advice from people in marketing or similar, because a lukewarm protest is probably more counter productive than no protest at all. It's about tactically picking your battles/timing.
Which is what makes the next one so awkward. Last night was powerful, but it was crucial to choose an unattractive fixture/kick off time on the back of poor results. A chunk of the stayaways won't have the stomach for missing consecutive games, and a run of half hearted boycotts would mean the 'only interested if it's enmasse' crowd will never boycott again. This would be a wasted opportunity for a future TV game further down the line. Likewise, boycotting the pigs is a nonstarter, there will be too many easy excuses within reach.
The other challenge is that people tend to lose interest if things aren't ramped up each time. Leaflets and turning our backs will no longer cut it, yet people are also generally non militant/unobtrusive themselves. Human beings also don't like having to go out their way for things too much, which is why staying away for a match is more popular than sitting in for an hour after fulltime, or marching from the town hall.
This Saturday is way too soon to publicise a supporter protest of any sort, but I think significant disruption of a match has to be the next step. This is something the Trust don't want to explicitly call for so I'm not sure where we go now!
