  1. It's threads like this that convince fans of both clubs that we're obsessed with each other isn't it?
  2. Surely to make any kind of success out of Wednesday, an owner needs to understand what is unique about us and capitalize on it. Our proximity to Manchester could be a benefit: Ok they sign the best kids, but we develop a relationship with both clubs and get their young talent on loan or signed permanently with sell on fees. City and Utd might go for it - their kids get the chance to play in front of relatively big crowds without needing to relocate from their families necessarily. We need to accept our place in the foodchain, like Brighton and Brentford do. Sign young players, develop, sell on. It would be frustrating to lose exciting players as they are coming into their prime but if we want to grow revenues then it has to be done.
  3. Can't see anyone buying it if they're not allowed to sign players until 2027
  4. Every 6 months or so I go to the online shop ready to let the club have my money and don't see anything I want to buy. Yet other companies have way better Wednesday stuff in stock (e.g. Toffs). Embarrassing.
  5. Was at the Etihad last weekend for the Lionesses v Brazil. The stadium is fantastic. Having a huge mass of car parks probably raises them as much revenue as hospitality. Variety of food and drink around the stadium. The concourse bars were bit more limited but well staffed and queues were quick. Think the future for Wednesday may well be away from Hillsborough but will need a very wealthy owner who is able to fund a move.
  6. Leafletting to tell the non social media fans about the boycott
  7. Agree that a protest needs to be more than staying away. Ideally a pitch invasion and match abandoned. Are the trust planning on leafleting outside the ground on match days to reach the non social media fans I wonder.
  8. Sounds exciting. Still time for Chansiri to pull a few more surprises out though surely.
  9. And is this allowed with FFP? And no I didn't pinch the idea from Brentford or other forward thinking clubs.

      • Haha
  10. If there's one thing Chansiri and this club has taught us, things can always get worse.
  11. The last line of this interview is bleakly funny. Can the Florida lot hold Chansiri to the offer price when we are a League One club in just under a year's time?
  12. Do you really think we can sign a prolific goalscorer in January on our budget? If we had 30k a week for someone I'd hope it wouldn't go to a crock like Hogan but that is usually the Wednesday way!
  13. Bloke with the quiff can go in the other thread. ??
  14. Zigor Aranalde - but only briefly.
  15. Very early days. We should always have an idea what his value is though. Before we start fantasising about megabucks remember that West Ham paid 20 million for Bowen, who had 50 odd goals to his name by then. Villa paid 28 million for Watkins after he had about the same. Both were unproven at Prem level. Also worth bearing in mind the Blades paid 20 odd million for Brewster after he scored just 10 goals for Swansea(!) So if an offer of 20 million comes in before he gets 50 goals, maybe you consider it.
  16. Even City sell when the price is right. Got good money for Sterling and Palmer.
  17. Only way we can keep young players when interest higher up is there, is to play them. Well done Danny Röhl.
  18. I think you're right. Wishful thinking on fans' part that he's selling up and Red Bull are waiting in the wings. If he was really selling up, he wouldn't want potential buyers knowing we could be about to go into admin when they could get a cheaper deal.
  19. I'd argue it's off the pitch that's the problem and that's why we're struggling on it.
  20. Rohl insisting on a DoF being brought in. Paxo refusing to be officially named as an employee while haggling for a pay rise.
  21. Get high and watch TV. For the owls, just to see us run properly would be nice. A team we can be proud of and a full stadium.
  22. He won't just walk away, but like another stubborn get, Dave Allen, eventually he'll have to. When it happens, we'll be in L1 with crowds under 20k and season ticket renewals dropping off and things will be a lot worse on the pitch than they are now.
  23. Here's a thought, shall we let him get his new players onto the pitch, and give them a few games to gel, before we decide what he's trying to do or if he's any good?
  24. Surely there'll be more wingers. If we're going to play 4231 with pace on the break we'll need someone to share the load with these young lads. Doesn't look like Wilks can stay fit so can't count on him.
  25. We wasted all the money on forwards! We didn't need 7 strikers or whatever nonsense we had.
