I really hope you are right, but playing devil's advocate a little bit, some players also have an unused substitute clause which means they get a sum if they dont even appear. Some players in some cases I suspect have a higher unused sub fee than appearance fee, and therefore putting them for nominal minutes costs the club less. Looking at ugbo for example (Potentially putting 2 and 2 together here and getting 5) A big money signing on a wave of good form, its not impossible that ugbo thought he should be playing so much there was a financial penalty to the club if he wasn't involved. In 9 league games so far, ugbo has come on in the last minute for 3 of them, Including this sat when we were 5 down and most of the crowd were already home.

Worst pre kickoff anthems

watford's is pretty turd. Get why they've gone Elton john, but terrible choice of song. As for us, id like to lean a little more on the side of sheffield. Arctic monkeys brianstorm or I bet you look good on the dance floor for example. Suspect our older fanbase would moan at a change though. -
Pitch Invasion - how many!?
oneeyedmilkman replied to Kevowls1's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Fair play to those who went on the pitch whilst too many offered the equivalent of "thoughts and prayers". Thank you for doing the right thing in the face of repercussion -

Nixon story on pierce Charles
oneeyedmilkman replied to Barnsleyowl1996's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It does appear to be a 'scoop' tbf, but like many on here have suggested I think its a purposefully leaked rumour from one or two at the top. For nicko to not be arty farty about the valuation and cover all bases with vagueness, and go outright at 4 tells me hes been told that figure by someone trying to keep the lights on at the club -

Emanuelson - 26 Steve Howard - 29 Who's the best number 3 weve had like '93 onwards? -
Morning all. Hope you can help me with a bit of fun. Collecting wednesday shirts has become a full blown addiction, but im now looking to see if I can get a name with each individual number. So who has been our best/worst/funniest/cult hero 1-50? Wildsmith 2? Fletcher 6? Or semedo? Kenwyne jones 15? Windass 47? Looking forward to your suggestions

You can think the team weve got out is crap and accept that there's no option of making it any better. Horvath, weaver, palmer in midfield and brown realistically dont get in any other championship team as first choice options, for example. Only one man to blame. I hope our fans down there do a good job of keeping that fact in the public eye

I think the idea of putting salary secondary to playing another 40 or so games and really cementing himself in the all time swfc appearance makers list is an incredibly noble one. He'll be rightly revered as a wednesday legend when he hangs up his boots. Unfortunately in the immediate term that doesnt make playing with some massively inferior players and getting tonked most weeks any easier

Those of you who bought your season ticket in January with good intentions, but have since refused to spend a penny in the ground, I applaud you. Those of you who have broke the habit of going to see wednesday every weekend in the name of doing your part, I applaud you. Ive been guilty of it myself, but when you see the league cup attendance, or the pictures of the kiosks, its too easy to focus on the 10s of people and not the 100s and 1000s of Wednesday fans who are genuinely sacrificing in some way in order to do their part in getting this bloke out. We need to keep working on the 1%'s

To the fans that went tonight
oneeyedmilkman replied to TFUS's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
You'll have to forgive me as I wasn't around here when the miners strikes happened, but were there people then who supported the strikes, but went to work anyway because it was the only time they got to see their mates, or they didnt want to upset their kids? -

DHGate shirt has arrived
oneeyedmilkman replied to Dexter Morgan's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Cheers for getting back to me. No idea why but I went for all of this seasons shirts. Already got the home, but I've heard nothing from the other two and I paid for them the day they went on there. Didn't know if id got a bit of a cack seller or something -
I wonder how many fans buy a ticket for Leeds on the back of this "feel good" result?

With the players and style of football they play, I could see them going for bellend wilder.

How bad are the team/squad?
oneeyedmilkman replied to ashamanic's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Too many people look at the first xi against Leicester and think things aren't so bad. Its a wrong opinion. Its a wrong opinion that creates apathy and softens the rage and frustration that should be fuelling protests and action. Of the first xi: iorfa, valery and chalobah cannot play 46. Realistically cant play over 30. Ingelsson is not designed to play 90 minutes. We saw last season time and time again he runs himself into the ground for an hour. This season we're going to ask him to do the lot every 90. Otegbayo and cadamarteri should be blooded in gradually or on loan in league 1, instead they'll be asked to play every game. Of the bench, many haven't played mens football before, or been loaned out to league 2 and conference clubs. They shouldn't be anywhere near it. Mcneil should be out on loan, kobacki should be anywhere but the match day and ugbo hasnt scored a league goal in over a year, and theyre the only 3 you 'have' to sub on each game. There will be kids playing in other championship team's academies who are much better than these kids we're asking to mark manhoef etc We will not get the points with this team. Even if we were to get ahead in a game, even the poorest teams in the league will make 5 subs and with effectively half the team fresh, will run us into the ground. We will get injuries and we will be asking players to play 2 games a week constantly soon enough. This squad is an absolute poo show. If left under current ownership, it will go down this season with the lowest points total on record and will continue to go down the levels because any player of quality will leave. Even bannan and palmer will have to retire one day. I pray there's a takeover plodding along silently in the background. Pray. -
Winks has been linked with a couple of serie a clubs. Tbh the two they had in there they paid 20mil a pop for and should have been good enough to do the job. In the end the pair got run over by ingelsson bannan and chalobah.

There's a reason chalobah has played for chelsea, napoli and England. That said the reason chalobah is at wednesday and not at any of the above mentioned teams is he possesses legs made of trifle biscuits. Fusire will get a lot of minutes and will get better for the experience (he'll have to)

Leicester- V - Wednesday
oneeyedmilkman replied to Lord Snooty's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We were quite poor at set pieces last season. With all our coaching staff ripped out and a huge chunk of the playing staff gone, we weren't going to magically get better. We didnt do enough to win the game and we didnt deserve to. Most games this will be the case through no one's fault but the chairman's. I'm immensely proud of our players who have pulled that out on the back of an unbelievably unprofessional pre season. Only exception for me is kobacki. Still looks a million miles off it -
We can't even sell nostalgia without messing it up. Over 200 quid needed for 3 very, very poor kits epitomises a very, very poor season.
