🦉 v ⚔️ The Steel City Derby: Official Matchday Thread
catdog1121 replied to ReginaldD's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Why? We are relegated, we need to look for next season in League one, this campaign is gone.. We need to be concentrating on hitting up players ready for league one. -

The players are willing but there is a clear difference it quality.. I don't think the pigs will be in a relegation battle come end of the season, too much quality in that squad.. -
Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not
catdog1121 replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Yeah lets keep with stands that are falling apart.. Who needs money from commercial boxes or modern facilities.. Lets stay in the past and carry on the way we have last 20yrs, its going so well..- 125 replies

I think for now we can stay but with a view to a new stadium on a different site.. It would be great to redevelop Hillsborough however the site is to congested, we know it is also liable to flooding.. Although I am not a fan of souless bowls I think we are missing out on decent corporate boxes, income away from football, using the stadium to host other events, conference rooms etc, this lack of income from the commercial side is ultimately hurting the club financially and with the old girl getting older the repair bills are only going to get larger.. The most annoying part about Hillsborough is its supposed to be a 40k seater stadium but officially not even 35k is possible, with the last time Hillsborough was sold out was against Peterborough with not even 32k possible.. If we are looking to the future and want to get into the Prem then a stadium that can hold 40k fans is needed, surely its a no brainer a new stadium will have higher capacity, better and more facilities and can generate more income on both match day and outside of the football season..

They do seem to do better in the first half of the season and then bottle it after the new year.. I think though they will spend a bit and stay up but they are still in trouble as the Prem money has clearly gone and they will have a really hard time getting back into the Prem like a lot of other Championship teams when competing against the money that comes down, they are more likely to slide downwards than go up..

Honour Bannan & Palmer with a statue - PETITION
catdog1121 replied to BigMikeSWFC's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I have always thought that somewhere in the stadium there should be like a massive long timeline kind of like a Bayeux Tapestry dictating the timeline of the club and then having below notible events and players.. Not sure so much about Palmer but 100% Bannan should be commemorated in some way especially in the modern age he could have gone to another Championship club or even a Prem club but he stayed with us even in relegation to league one and then again through this tough period.. A true ledgend of the modern era. For me although Palmer is a stalward of the club he has often been more of a squad player, still a great servant but not in the same vein.. -
Ugbo has been a magnificent asset to the club, with the fee DC paid for him and not wanting him to walk away because he paid a fee he really helped the club drain DC of cash... However as a striker his goal scoring record speaks for itself. since we bought him 47 league appearances and not a single goal. I really think you would struggle to find any other striker in the league with a worse goal scoring record than that.. It feels like the loan spell he had for us was like some miricale, and off the back of that he got his meal ticket. Right now though I dont think he could even do a job in league one, we just need to loan him out, sell him for free do anything to get rid as he is just dead wood, would rather concentrate on George Brown and Cadz, no idea why Pederson keeps playing him..

Chansiri, the 25% and 15 point deduction
catdog1121 replied to RUMBELOWS91's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
This seems crazy, the club is not worth £35M now we are in administration, reports are Ashley has offered £10M.. We have finally got rid of the burden round our necks but this EFL rule seems to reduce the chance of getting investor, give us points deduction or auto relegation for going into Admin, I get that because it should always be a last resort but don't actively discourage would be investors but hitting us next season, allow the new owner and club to turn things around, its bad enough that our season is over, destroyed by the previous owner but to say effectively next season is over as well is just cruel... Really hope that this rule has some kind of flexibility as a potential buyer I would be stipulating that any sale would only go through subject to no points deduction next season as for that would devalue the club, we all know the club will lose money revenue wise but for an investor they could increase the club capital, so if you say the club is worth say £25M, if you have to bank roll the club for 1.5yrs without increasing its capital value, that could cost you £15M, suddenly the club is actually only really worth £10M, which is maybe where Ashley gets his figure from.. As a fan it would be devastating after last season basically knowing we were going nowhere and lucky to avoid relegation, this season knowing from the start we were relegated, to have a third season of knowing we will just tread water in league one is just stupid.. -
Having a business bank transfer is usually pretty much immediate and costs the sender or the receiver nothing on my business account (Although some accounts can charge).. If I wanted to have a card machine it would cost upto around 2%.. So it could be encouraged to pay via bank transfer as the club would get 100% of the money..

This season is over it doesnt matter but would be good to start and get a few players in that can do a job next season.. They can take as many points off us this season I really dont care.. Its all about next season in league one..

BREAKING : New prices vs Norwich City - get buying!!
catdog1121 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
This makes total sense to keep the momentum going especially when you consider we have basically zero chance of staying in the league so why would anyone pay top Championship prices for a team that has nothing to play for... Well done Admin team.. -
Should a new Owner retain Pedersen OR replace?
catdog1121 replied to 1952Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Pedersen is doing a good job however its likely the new owners will want to put their stamp on things, problem with giving him a chance is we basically need a whole new team for next season.. It would hardly be fair to any incoming manager after Pedersen. Feel for him but was always likely to be the case.. Will depend who else is interested.. Maybe if Röhl flops at rangers we could get him bk.. -
SWFC IN ADMINISTRATION - CONFIRMED
catdog1121 replied to Sambo89's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I agree, I think this will spark a bidding war between a few investors.. Any investor now is buying a league one club with a massive fan base that they can develop and make a potential profit.. -

SWFC IN ADMINISTRATION - CONFIRMED
catdog1121 replied to Sambo89's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Surely though this puts us in more danger as DC still owns the stadium? As its a different company is that company affected? If not will DC just let us go into Admin but then want 100M for the stadium making any deal to buy the club impossible meaning the end of SWFC.. -
Can't complain but the quality difference was evident... Problem is doesnt matter if we lose 5-0 or 1-0, the number of points is the same.. But we knew we were relegated before the season started.

Danny’s biggest issue at Rangers
catdog1121 replied to beloved_aunt's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think Rangers ambitions will out stretch reality.. It could destroy Röhl's career. -
If any fans actually turn up they could be asked to play to make up the numbers.. Wonder if we could Borrow a Boro player or two to make up a team... hahah this team is a complete joke.. Well done DC your have created a laughing stock, is this your vendetta..
-
I don't think right now is the time, pressure is being put on DC financially, that seems to be the better tool so a complete boycott to dry up funds for the club.. Maybe in a few weeks if the HMRC winding up order is not forthcoming or he manages to pay the bill, but for now I would say not the right time, an empty stadium would say way more than a small on the pitch protest..

If he wasn't injured he would have been sold..

If Röhl gets the Glasgow Rangers job
catdog1121 replied to danblakemore's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Poor Danny, he was so convinced he would get a top job but I guess 1.5 seasons as a manager of a lower tier championship club managing mid table obscurity (Still good) just doesn't really cut it for champions league teams.. I can understand his frustration but I think he needs to lower his expectations a bit, maybe look to take on something like a stable championship club, get them promoted and keep them in the prem, then he could get a mid tier prem job and do well with them maybe take them into Europe, go quite far, then maybe Champions League teams would look at him.. -
Owls return to Premier League predicted by AI
catdog1121 replied to Brad_owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It could take back to back promotions to come from the national league.. But then I guess look at Wrexham so anything is possible..
