Darren, Harry here, really good to see you Saturday after all these years
-
I think that's a real stretch. This is a token; it's in reality not going to cover that much. And it's likely it will be sorted soon and the funds go to charity. It's also additional publicity for what a mess the owner is causing, and no doubt causes further embarrassment. There's absolutely no way DC will think what you're suggesting

Let’s Get The Season Tickets Sold Out
bazapeps replied to BIG D's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
A new owner coming in really has it so easy; first job to make season ticket prices just even close to average championship prices, with a nice statement about how valued supporters are and we 100% achieve record season ticket sales. Genuinely think they could sell them out. -
It's nothing new; he's been sending these types of messages to fans via email and linkedin for years. The fact he replies only encourages more people to message him. Realistically he should just ignore all messages and not respond to any. The tone and nature of his responses have been the same throughout. He shouldn't be abused via message but plenty of people have been perfectly professional and polite and have received awful messages back. I had various messages with him and his responses referenced a meeting I had with him in July 2023. So they are 100% real.

Key takeaway is how was the bid made. Did DC provide all the relevant documents and information, so that an informed and educated bid could be made? If so then that's a huge step forwards. If not, then nothing has really changed. Unless DC opens up, sensible negotiations are going to be impossible. If an offer has been made based on nothing then it makes complete sense for it to be low ball.

Full season ticket refund issued for 2025 2026

Only just seen this thread and i'm massively on the fence about it. I was actually the first call on FH last night, discussing how it was my son's first game on Saturday, the experience and value of people needing their football fix / experience and that time with their friends and family. Each to their own with it. I personally don't think enough would not go for it to be impactful. And I won't criticise anyone that still goes. -
Happy to volunteer if someone has a spare ID
-
Can we make this happen? Show the boss how much he’s loved and appreciated. Get the face masks out, Germany flags, lederhosen. Surely he deserves it after all he’s done, a proper send off and likely a great atmosphere. And also a back handed F you to the chairman.

United Tickets Now On Sale
bazapeps replied to oh_weds_we_love_you's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Essentially £47-£55 to watch a championship game of football It's like having to pay £30 for maccies Lets milk the supporters for all they've got. Lets completely take the p1ss and rinse them; they'll still pay it. Completely taking advantage of the fans' loyalty and support -
Successful businessman strikes again

"I always back my hospitals" Tbf he's still waiting on builders to call him and offer their services. He's the boss so it's not his job to call builders. If they want some work they need to phone him first. -
Maybe take over then pal and give it a go yourself. These are a bunch of regular fans, that have put their heart and soul into it, along with serious amounts of time. All for what, a partly apathetic fan base and partly obstructive, clueless and abusive and obstructive fan base. They’ve tried things for over 12 months. So all that bull about flouncing and first hurdle; maybe have a think about that and give your head a wobble.

Pretty disappointed with our fan base tbh. Part of me understands a section of fans just wanting to watch football and not worry about off the field matters. But it seems like our fan base has changed and gone soft and accepting of anything that’s thrown at them over recent years. Too many fans just happy to accept being ripped off, treated like garbage and happy to let basic incompetence fly by consistently with no comment or critique. Even more bizarre are fans that maintain support for the owner and turn against the good people trying to make a positive difference. The comments and abuse towards those supporting protests is disgusting. People were spat at, sworn at and shoved today, all whilst being polite and simply offering flyers. Chansiri must find it hilarious that he’s got fans sticking up for him that he couldn’t care less about them. The biggest frustration is that many of those against protests still seem to have zero understanding of why people are frustrated and want change. If you are going to criticise and abuse at least educate yourself on the issues and topics before. Too many are incapable of an adult conversation; you get childish responses such as “you want us to fail”; “your not a real fan” “you just hate Chansiri”. Utter garbage because some people are incapable of a proper response. The 1867 lads are some of biggest committed fans I’ve ever come across; travelling to all home and away games. People don’t appreciate the time and effort they put in and for what, other people to sit on their arses doing nothing but abuse and defend the indefensible actions of the owner. I don’t get our fan base; used to be tough as owt and not accept rubbish, sticking up for what’s right with a bit of Sheffield grit; but now way too many just roll over and accept anything.

Question Time for the Chairman
bazapeps replied to Daveyboy66's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Based on clubs’ most recent accounts; our ticket revenue was 3rd in the league. But our commercial revenue was 13th and broadcast revenue 23rd. This shows that the fans are doing there bit but why has the club consistently failed on a commercial level? -
Question Time for the Chairman
bazapeps replied to Daveyboy66's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Over the years you’ve had various public fall outs with staff and managers. Numerous staff have come into the club and haven’t stayed long at all - the initial footballing team, COO’s, advisors, manager, club chef. Club staff and stewards have also passed on their support to the 1867 protesters. Do you therefore feel you are lacking in leadership and management qualities? Would it be in the clubs interests for you to take a full step back, appoint competent and experienced staff in management roles and to actively allow them to complete their jobs with freedom? -
“Ask someone at the club about it in 11 days”
bazapeps replied to SallyCinnamon's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don't actually think the biggest issue is the lack of January backing. It's more the lack of planning and lack of communication facilitation from the owner; all of which has been an issue and contributory factor in failure for a decade. We had former managers discuss how difficult it is to speak to the owner and we saw in the EFL commission report (re the stadium sale debacle) that there were various emails and chasers to DC from club staff about what needed to happen / the urgency of the same and responses weren't forthcoming. In reality the owner and manager should be in regular contact on various issues. Plans and discussions for the January window should have been ongoing for weeks, if not months and plans updated and amended accordingly based on injuries, table position, budget etc. It's no way to run a club or business. Especially given everything goes through him and everything has to be signed off by him. If he's not going to plan and engage in regular dialogue, then employ people and delegate those tasks; but we know that will never happen.- 466 replies

Once again, another midweek match where it seems huge numbers of season ticket holders don't attend. In a cost of living crisis, with our crazy match day prices; it's such a shame that such volumes of tickets go to waste. There must be hundreds, if not thousands that would jump at the chance to attend matches. I don't know about the practicalities of it but some sort of group, where season ticket holders could donate unused tickets would be great. Season ticket holders are able to get individual match tickets printed and kids tickets can be upgraded to adults, so it can work. It would be great to get people back in Hillsborough this way, to attract new and young fans and help out those that are financially struggling. All the usuals too of those people being more likely to return, to spend on merchandise / food / drink etc too when attending. Plus the attended numbers and atmosphere benefits.
