  1. Agree 100%. Fannying about with it at the back is ok when you have £100m players like Man City but when you are bottom on Championship with a threadbare squad it's ridiculous. So frustrating when we do this and lose the ball as its so avoidable.
  2. I dont disagree that today was the over hang with the mismanagement by Chansiri of the club but can't help feel disappointed we didn't even give United a game today.
  3. Think a little harsh on Bannan with what a big player and figure he has been to Wednesday over recent years. But he didn't have his best game today.
  4. Cant think of a worse performance in a such a big game.
  5. They are no tram works as far as I am aware. All down to the disorder on some Trams at last seasons Derby at Hillsborough.
  6. I think problem will be opposite. People will be too sycophantic towards them like they were with Chansiri and shout down even the mildest of criticism towards them. Of course welcome anyone who takes over but hope many dont act almost like teengirls at a boy band concert many did 10 years ago.
  7. I had a feeling after Chansiri went more stories of his unorthodox way of running the club were going to come out.
  8. Maddix was another of those players we have had who was a decent player and had a respectable career but we got them when they were over the hill. We seem to have had loads over the years.
  9. I think Shreeves was like Alan Irvine and Stuart Gray a very good and respected coach but not 100% cut out to be the actual manager.
  10. ` I do remember Mel Sterland playing for Wednesday. Remember him playing up front at the start of one season when we were short of forwards. Think first game v Luton he missed a pen but scored only goal of the game later with a header. Also he got a Testimonial for his decade service but this was played at Elland Road which seems really odd. I think I remember he wasnt that popular when he first got in the side? This is slightly before my time.
  11. I think it was one of those nights where people who did go will keep very quiet about it when its brought up in conversation in future. Was a bittersweet night, the boycott was much more successful then I would have predicted but was sad seeing Hillsborough like that on TV.
  12. Never sure if these comments are tongue in cheek or not.
  13. A big thumbs dow for anyone who decided this. A bit of a failure of policing.
  14. Brought the feel good factor back and it feels more like Wednesday used to . But not sure how administration will effect the local suppliers, if any of them lose out then its not something to feel happy about. Would describe administrations as a necessary evil.
  15. Last night I took a trip to Derbyshire for Dronfield Town 2 Retford United 2 in the United Counties Div 1. Thought I was an entertaining game on a cool evening. All goals were in the first half and Dronfield were down to 10 men most of the second half and was fairly gripping as they were really struggling to hold on, thought Dronfield really put a shift in last night. Always a warm welcome and was only £3 entrance showing my SWFC season ticket.
  16. Can see it being a narrow victory for United. I am confident we are not going to take a thrashing though which I though was on the cards a couple of months ago.
  17. What Wilder said in the the post match press conference at Hillsborough last season wasn't wrong but all felt a bit undignified talking about another club like that.
  18. With the way Sheffield Wednesday has been run over last few years we deserve to be lower than Lincoln and Stockport County.
  19. I was on the Kop and at the time it seemed to happen so quickly and unexpected that I thought he had punched him. Could not wait to see it on Match of the Day later and felt a bit deflated it was only a push and an over reaction by the Ref.
  20. Think worst managers I have had during my time where Jos and Xisco. Fish out of water. Think a lot of time a manger being a success or not is 50% down to how stable the club behind them is with finances etc.
  21. I didn't lose any sleep when Monk was sacked but I think he was given a bad hand. Wasn't allowed to bring in any players or his own back room staff, existing players demotivated by the start of Chansiri late payments, points deduction. Think the crowd never took to him because he sidelined star players like Hutchinson and Westwood but think overall he was right in that as they were living on past reputations.
  22. Paul Jewell did really well at Bradford and Wigan. Think circumstances at the club at the time were very much against him.
  23. Wouldn't they have insurance for this? Not sure many people would attend I it was a player that wasn't well known.
  24. This reminds me of minutes silences and round of applauses on certain minutes. The first one or two seem like good idea and then after a while you think 'Not another one'.
  25. I would only think about going if all the proceeds went to a local charity. Otherwise I think Testimonials for players should be a thing of the past.
