You know that’s not true. A short strike on a match day has a massive impact. Combined with the players it would be unprecedented. Even a longer term strike would have a short, sharp impact - no tickets or merch sold. Time it for early bird and Chansiri’s fcuked.

Posted on a similar thread in The Boardroom section… I think this should be considered - Unite and the PFA taking joint action on a match day, which should be the derby (no travel issues for most fans). I believe that strikes have to follow certain procedure to be deemed “official/legal” and in doing so that means that employees are protected from discriminatory action and their jobs are protected. These procedures include having to ballot members, a minimum percentage of members voting, and a notice period to the employer that a ballot is being held. I think there’s sufficient time for this to happen before the derby on 23rd November. At places I’ve worked the staff lose a day’s wages. I’m sure some Owlstalkers have more detailed understanding than me so could confirm. A strike would reverberate around the world, not just locally. Unlikely I think. He’d have to make an area zero POTG, move anyone with season tickets in that area, cordon off that area above and below the stand, increase security, and get SAG/SYP approval. Grimsby was easy to do as none of that needed organising. I can’t see that he or club staff have the ability or enthusiasm to do that. then again…

Well, that’s Britain (the world) for you now. People see things as a personal slight, been told what to do and doing the opposite etc, rather than looking at the issue from the bigger picture/collective benefit perspective ie let’s do something together and we’ll all be better off in the long term. Personal sacrifice does not seem to compute with people these days - what’s in it for me is the mantra. Sad times.

The local journalists have stepped up and done a great job, IMHO. They probably were restricted in what they could report previously despite knowing/suspecting some of the stuff going on behind the scenes. But the cumulative weight (and veracity) of Chansiri’s fcukery has allowed them to report on things and offer more honest views. I’m sure they want to get back to reporting on the football side of things though!

They’re backing the wrong horse (morally and financially). I imagine that when new owners come in some people may no longer be employed.

It’s a cumulative thing though. Doing nothing is not an option. Yesterday’s pitch invasion was small in numbers but had a massive impact publicity wise. A boycott of the Boro game raises things again. But a campaign to not renew season tickets is the biggest thing. There needs to be a concerted campaign to maximise this, and I agree with others that it can’t just be online as that might not capture everyone.

If this date is true the Trust need to start getting the message to not renew out there now - this is the money that would keep Chansiri limping on. We need to be collectively strong and massively defund him! Why anyone would pay upfront knowing that Chansiri is going to put out a team that’s shi te and can’t compete I don’t know but if you’re worried about losing your long term seat you shouldn’t - you’ll have your pick once he’s gone.

I can (maybe) understand people that aren’t on social media not understanding the gravity of things at the beginning of the season but to not have the curiosity to wonder why crowds were down, why people were chanting, why black and gold is a thing and why people are on the pitch, well that’s just ignorance, stupidity and selfishness. Use your season tickets if you must, but don’t spend money at the ground and support the protests (including chanting).

Watching on Sky (from abroad) and the tv pictures showing fans with arms crossed looking annoyed when others were waving the black and gold and fans were on the pitch was sickening! Are some of our fans so removed from reality that they can’t even wave/wear a scarf and clap those that are taking a stand by invading the pitch. Pathetic.

Not playing is unlikely but what about refusing to come out until 3.10pm. Long enough to make an obvious statement, and links it to the 10 years of inept ownership and the fan protests? Could get those in attendance out of their apathy too!
