  1. Essentially, you need be careful of this sort of thing: If you write: "barnsley_fan kicks cats in his spare time," it is on you to prove that I do kick cats, and not on me to prove that I do not. It's up to you to demonstrate that your allegation is true (or some other defences, but it being true, is your best bet.) If you write something which would expose me to hatred, ridicule, or contempt, in the eyes of a regular person - such as me kicking cats - then it is not enough that you are sure of it, in your own mind. Did you film me doing it? If you haven't got very solid proof, you are asking for trouble if you publicise it. The same thing applies with your owner. It doesn't matter if you are convinced he has done x. Prove that him doing x is a true statement, or else. If you libel him - expose him to hatred, ridicule, or contempt, in the eyes of a regular person - then you are on shaky ground. Are you confident that your evidence of x, is strong enough to stand up in court, against someone who can very likely afford stellar legal representation? If not, don't write it.
