Talksport/The Sun - 15 Point penalty

It’s come to something when a 15 point deduction feels lenient. -

I got access to last year’s BETA before the proper release. Our team was all over the place, they’d put Shipston down as a GK and he was rated higher than Dawson!

BAH GAWD he’s broken that sonofabeach Chansiri in half!

Is Hillsborough the problem?
Normanski replied to RUMBELOWS91's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The problem doesn’t seem to be any potential buyers. It’s the seller who doesn’t actually want to sell. -
What's your favourite memory.

Warhurst brace v Blackburn, league cup semi final 1993. Wasn’t even a football fan before that game. Getting promotion over United in League One 2012 is up there too. -
Who are these signatures?

I’m guessing the ‘PW’ to the right on the first photo is Paul Warhurst. -

Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SWFC

I liked Steve Bruce and thought he could see all the problems at the club. If he stayed he would have sorted us out but I understand why he wanted to leave. -

Here’s another general one I’ve believed for years: Premier League Clubs should not be in the League Cup. There’s too many games and most of them don’t care anyway, it’s also one more cup competition than the rest of Europe’s major leagues. I propose that the League Cup gets reformatted and the FA Trophy is scrapped. Keep the League Cup for EFL clubs but to make it competitive the prize for the winner would be the final play off spot in their respective division (i.e a league one club who won it would get the last play off spot in league one). If any club in the top six won it then the play off spot would go to the sixth placed cup as it is now. -

A general one: the modern football fan wants quick turnovers, players to run up the pitch and get a guaranteed goal with no physical contact. the modern football fan is watching the wrong sport. They should be watching the NBA. -

We Should Be Protesting the EFL, Not the Club
Normanski replied to TrueOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
As it stands Chansiri is the sole owner of Sheffield Wednesday and is its biggest creditor, he bankrolls the club. Employees are paid (or not) by the Employer; legally it’s the company I work for who pays my wages, not my manager. That’s why the EFL are punishing the club and not the owner, it’s unless Chansiri is judged to have done something illegal there’s nothing they can do. The problem with your line of thought is that it seems you think Chansiri and SWFC are two completely independent entities but as things stand they’re not: if the club suffers financially, Chansiri suffers financially and vice versa. That will only change once Chansiri sells the club and the connection is broken. We as the fans are the club’s biggest source of revenue. Not spending money on the club should eventually give Chansiri no option but to sell, and it’s the single biggest thing we can do: In a capitalist society nothing makes as big an impact as money or lack of it (apparently the times journalist has said that the loss of revenues is making it’s mark on Chansiri). The only sticking point is that works on the assumption that Chansiri cannot stomach the loses and the reason that we’re in the trouble is because he can no longer bankroll the club. If he can absorb the losses and is instead just doing what he’s doing out of spite with no then we’re cooked because no one can force him out as the sole owner unless he’s done something illegal. The IFR might be able to do something but at this point no one knows. -

Short answer is a Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac type. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re aware enough to know where their strengths and weaknesses. They’re also humble enough to admit that they know nothing about football and have employed the best people they can to run the day to day. They’ve also followed through on the promises they made on day 1of buying the club or are on their way to doing so, as well as investing in both the infrastructure and the town as a whole. I’m sure they’ve made mistakes and not everything is rosy behind the scenes, they never are, but you can’t ask for more than that really.
