  1. Yep. Even though the pigs aren’t a great side, we made them look brilliant today
  2. But he’s one player I could never bring myself to berate. Look at who he’s got around him? Too many players that aren’t on his wavelength
  3. He’s been anonymous in just about every derby I’ve seen him in
  4. @The_Ghost_Of_91 absolutely mate. Couldn’t really fault him for the three goals and he made some very important saves to prevent an embarrassing score line
  5. Well that was a very depressing watch. We all know who’s to blame for what we see on the pitch but only Amass (especially first half) and Horvath can come out of that with any satisfaction of putting a shift in. Too many players, even after a fortnight rest, didn’t seem to grasp the magnitude of the fixture. Onwards and upwards though, the main aim this season has been achieved
  6. Very sad news, RIP
  7. Pigs will just wear their Matalan finest and if they get sprayed, they'll bin them when they get back to their pigsties
  8. I got the same, mate but received two identical emails for the same membership. Hope I'm not being charged twice, haha
  9. So let me get this straight, boss...I kick the round thing through the white metal rectangle at the end of the pitch? Nah...still not getting it....
  10. I was scared Hirsty was going to leave for Man Utd at the time, they tried to get him a few times. Who could blame them at the time, Hirst was on fire and would have thrived there, providing he avoided his injuries. I read in the book "A Quarter Of Wednesday" that he'd have jumped at the chance to join them but I'm glad TF stuck to his guns and refused Fergie's approaches
  11. @Owlabroad2001 it does make you wonder why he doesn't give any of the younger players a run out. This season is a complete dead-rubber, so why not give them some game time? It surely can't hurt or affect their progress and we may get an idea of what they'll be like in L1 next season. I said earlier (in another thread I think), that all he seems to do is rotate the strikers
  12. That brings back memories, thank you! Out in Sheffield around 20:00, onto the coach around midnight then a long trip to Dover, full of enthusiasm and excitement. Couple of beers on the ferry across the channel then back onto the coach and a long slog through France and Belgium, stopping at some remote and weird place for some food (undescribable meat, chips and veg with gravy). Footy in a field for a bit and then back on the coach to Luxembourg, arriving just before kick off. Stone cold sort of hot dog thing in the ground, few pics with the stadium police, one-sided 1-2 to us and then straight back on the coach to do it all in reverse. Had my contact lenses in for the duration, got home looking like someone had sprayed Hai Karate into my eyes, haha. Fun times indeed x
  13. 100%, mate. That horrible cowbag left us in a truly dire situation and we are where we are thanks to him. Yes, we have a distinct lack of quality through our small squad, but (apart from one or two), the effort they put in is truly remarkable. The Cov game aside, we aren't getting destroyed in every game and everyone that knows and loves football should be able to appreciate the situation we're in and applaud the effort the management, players, staff and fans contribute
  14. Yes indeed. We all know this would never be a quick fix and we could be in "limbo" for a couple of years until it starts to come together again. In 88-89 we were quite rubbish, same in 89-90, albeit with a few decent results. 90-91 was incredible and really seemed to bring the club and fans together again. However, football's changed quite a bit since then. We all have to be patient and keep supporting
  15. I was wondering the same thing....
  16. Horvath 5 - picked the ball out of his net three times, didn't do much else. Was unlucky with the first goal, no chance with the other two Palmer 5 - worked hard as usual, daft yellow card though Iorfa 5 - Hmm....hit and miss but can't fault his effort, not ever M. Lowe 5 - see Iorfa Fusire 6 - wasn't in it much in the first half, much better in the second. Superb goal-line clearance too Amass 8 - getting better every game. Oozes quality at times and a lovely goal for the lad. Hope we keep him beyond until the end of the season Valery 5 - see Iorfa Bannan 6 - see Iorfa McNeill 5 - Did his best and was unlucky with that bouncing shot Ingelsson 6 - ran his socks off, like he does every game. Not much of an end product though Cadamarteri 5.5 - Another one that always puts a shift in. Should be decent in L1 if we keep him J. Lowe 4.5 - change of hairstyle, same old Jamal. Just doesn't do it for me Ugbo 3.5 - Like all our strikers, always feeding on scraps. Did he even touch the ball? Ricardo (ref) 5 - typical standard for the Championship
  17. 100% right, mate. Probably the best stadium I've been to is Spurs. It's simply stunning but something we'll never (not in my lifetime anyway) be able to achieve, as it cost somewhere in the region of one billion. I'd LOVE us to upgrade Hillsborough along the lines of Villa (beautiful, historic stadium), Anfield, even that dump in S2
  18. At my age it's me and Claire Richards, haha
  19. Yeah, I know, mate. My amateur career (34 years in total) was as a goalkeeper and it's the hardest position on the field. I'll never resort to slagging any of our players off, as they're doing all they can under the circumstances
  20. I thought it was a decent game, especially in the first half when it was end to end. Second half saw us more in control but, us usual, with no bite or end product and all know why that is
  21. A big shout out to our fans, as always. Brilliant again today and a credit to our club
  22. Everything seems to bounce off him
  23. Not this again, haha. For me, it’s a definite stay and renovation job. However, surely the playing squad and overall stability are the priorities
