The fans of this club are amazing, some of the best in the land and we'd do well to remember that.
My view is that the fanbase are conditioned through 25 years of disappointment to expect very little in terms of tangible success. Deep rooted into our psyche is the keep calm and carry on mentality, born out of apathy, caused by consistent mismanagement.
In only my 2nd season following Wednesday I took part in the black balloon protest in 2004, running onto the pitch with my protest leaflet. After that game, fans congregated outside the directors entrance under the south stand and things were very heated. The door was attacked with barriers that were thrown as well fans trying to pull the doors open to get inside. Eventually mounted police moved in and the protest was dispersed.
The problem isn't that the fans have changed, they haven't. The problem is the club hasn't changed, except to only get worse.
