  1. Obviously not very well acquainted with the history of the Labour Movement. You can do better than that mate
  2. Hopefully not the second coming of Ronnie Ferguson
  3. In 1974 at this stage we had the equivalent of 5 points. That season turned out worse than anyone could have expected but I was 11 then and anything seemed possible. I turned up every fortnight with enthusiasm still expecting something from a game. The older and wiser me is now despairing. I have a ST but have missed 4 games so far including the cup games and I don’t care. Without a new Röhl this is going to be grim.
  4. Because they count ST holders. I’ve only been to one game this season but attendance figures say I’ve been to 3.
  5. Orlando Trustful was very talented and he should have been a first team regular.
  6. The great great Barry Davies.
  7. Our knobs that have turned up are much much worse.
  8. He was holding his shoulder after he saved one of the penalties
  9. I could understand it sort of if we were playing Man Utd or Arsenal or someone we haven't played for a while. It's a run of the mill cup tie against a team we've played loads of times recently who don't give a flying fart about us as "rivals".
  10. If we can match 1974/75 - my first regular season - it will be a miracle.
  11. Some of them are the “nobody tells me what to do” types.
  12. I think there are very few overtly pro- Chansiri fans anymore but plenty of ex-Chansiri fans who are now anti-protesting. Some deep psychological poo going on.
  13. If you want to read a justification for doing nothing in its purest form here it is from another place. It’s long - other that I make no comment. “Firstly, let’s assume that he isn’t putting money in because he can’t, he’s just run out. That means that, whatever the outgoings or incomings of the club are, he’s not able to do what he’s done in the past and top up to balance the books. Therefore cold hard logic says that affecting those incomings and outgoings has literally zero effect on his pocket, it can’t do because it’s just the difference between him not putting in X or not putting in Y. So this form of protest (boycotts being the most of obvious example) is utterly futile and ineffective. So, what if he does have money to put in but has chosen to stop doing so, and/or maybe being selective about what gets funded or by how much. This changes things a bit as clearly if the club needs more money it creates a dilemma for him as to what to do. Logically in this scenario making him at least have to think about putting more in at least gives him a headache, assuming he cares. So if this is the scenario financial based protests may have some effect assuming he is bothered. We can only speculate there but recent behaviour would seem to suggest this still won’t be particularly effective. So, let’s move on to a different way of affecting himfinancially, through reducing any potential sale value of the club and stadium. The difficult bit here is that he seems to be doing a pretty stand-up job of this himself and it makes no sense. Also anything that fans could do that reduces the sale value is ipso facto making it less attractive to a buyer and thereby potentially reducing the possibility of a sale. If you also add in the possibility (and we don’t really know) that he is holding out for a particular value, this really doesn’t help the situation at all. So key conclusion number 1. Any fan action based on trying to affect him from a financial perspective is highly likely to be ineffective and a waste ofeffort. (NB I acknowledge at this point that I have posted previously disagreeing with the boycotts so I may be confirming my own bias with the above, but I have approached it as logically as possible). If therefore money is not the influencing factor here (at least not in the sense that the fans can influence it) what’s the next option? We could try and attack his reputation and make life so uncomfortable for him that he just has to get out. I’ll start here by saying anything criminal orabusive is out of the question so not going there. Getting some media attention in Thailand recently has been interesting. You would assume that the whole family see that and it doesn’t make them feel great but, at the end of the day, do they really care? We’ll never know but there is no obvious link between this and getting him to sell. Also, he has had his reputation trashed for a long time now and it doesn’t seem to have made a jot of difference. Taking the usual definition of insanity into account, the logical conclusion is that trying to affect his reputation or honour in a direct way is not going to be effective and could even be detrimental. There’s conclusion number 2. This leads me towards the next option, which is somehow taking more direct action through other parties. The first and most obvious one is the EFL. This is where I think the recent more visible protests are maybe making them sit up and take notice. But, aswe have said before, legally the EFL cannot actually force him to sell. They do have options to enforce various sanctions but in the short term these will end up hurting the club. Any protests that couldlead to such sanctions should be discouraged. Visible, loud and effective protests such as those at Leicester may help, but only in the sense of raising awareness. We need a proper group working with the EFL to do what they can although whether this is enough is questionable. Another option that has been floated is going through something like the Thai embassy or similar. Pointing out that he is bringing the reputation of Thailand into disrepute. Would this have an impact? Maybe, it might be worth a try but would be a bit of a shot in the dark. Nothing to lose though in writing a few letters or a emails I guess. Getting a prominent politician involved would help. So conclusion number 3, using third parties is not guaranteed to solve the problem but may be more effective. Ultimately we have to accept that as fans we cannot force this situation. I have posted before that feeling powerless is bloody tough, but maybe there are things we can do. As above I think directing efforts towards maintaining awareness of our plight in a visible but non-damaging way, along with using third parties in a position of higher power is the only really sensible way forward. And sadly it may still not work and, for some, would probably be too much of a slow burn.”
  14. I think we can guess for most of them
  15. Their justification appears to be that although people who opposed Chansiri warned about things that have actually come to pass the real evidence at the time didn’t support that view. It’s presumably a lucky guess - but whatever it was it was prompted by irrational hatred of Chansiri and not actual facts. Chansiri may have turned out to be a terrible owner but they are the keeper of the real facts and those facts didn’t suggest he would ultimately be like this. Oh and if you post on “Stalk” you’re a c**** . I think that sums it up. There are a few rational posters on there who make good points to be fair.
  16. They go. Many have season tickets - and generally accuse people who oppose them as never going.
  17. As I posted elsewhere.... There has been evidence like this revealed over many years. People chose to ignore it or disbelieve it because he put some money in and critically because they regarded slagging the owner off to be the same thing as slagging SWFC off. I know we should all be sticking together but anyone who thought like that should be hanging their heads in shame - and the degree to which they hang it should be relative to how long it took them to finally realise that Chansiri was bad for the club. There's a lesson to be learned when it comes to assessing the merit of a new owner should we ever get one.
