There is absolutely zero chance Rangers are taking a punt on a manager like Röhl right now. Their fans who are already eleven out of ten angry would go into meltdown.

For Hearts, Tony Bloom is bullish in his view that they can not only help improve Scottish football by being competitive domestically, but can help improve it on the continent. He suggested earlier this year that Hearts could split the Old Firm this season. And he reaffirmed his belief and expectation of the club competing in the Champions League on the back of their league performance. “I'm very confident that will change because I can't speak for other clubs, but Hearts will be a force," he explained. "And when we get into Europe, we'll be winning games and we will help lift that coefficient. It takes time, the way the system works. “As and when Hearts win the league, we want to go straight into the Champions League; we do not want to have two games." No messing from Bloom yesterday!

Daily Record reporting that Dyche has turned them down and that Hearts have told Rangers to Foxtrot Oscar with any enquiry for McInnes. I think it is a bit too soon this season, even with the improved quality in the current squad and boardroom, but I do think we will win a title within the next decade. The Glasgow clubs are faltering but I think the aim now has to be second place for Hearts this season. I’ll be incredibly disappointed if we don’t finish above this Rangers squad. If Hearts keep following the Jamestown plan and program, and progress with our revenue growth and squad improvement, make gains window by window like USG did in Belgium with Jamestown, we will eventually win the league. I can see that too given his background and relationship with Thelwell but it would be a big change in strategic direction and style going from Martin to Dyche. Completely different footballing philosophies and approaches to the game. Would put serious questions for me on the board as it points to the fact they don’t really know what kind of Rangers they want to try and create.

I will be surprised if it is Röhl or an appointment like him. Their fans will want a winner, an experienced head, or a ‘Rangers’ man, and not a relative rookie. I hope they think like this too because I think Danny could transform them. The new ownership need to get the fans onside and they will be conscious of that. I think it will be Muscat personally who is at Shanghai Port. Possibly Gerrard. His arrogance and attitude was stinking throughout his tenure, and like many others from the English lower leagues he thought he would stroll Scottish football and failed. Filled their squad with a bunch of duffers spending £30m+ in the process. The worst thing for me is he didn’t have the class to mention McGlynn or Falkirk once last night in his interview and he was like that in most press conferences. I’m struggling to think of a worse appointment ever in my lifetime for Rangers boss. He has set them back years.

It is better it happening this season than next to be honest. This squad as great as they have done and as hard as they have tried were always going down anyway.

Martin leaving is a when not if. Terrible football, terrible recruitment, 14 games in and he still hasn’t won back to back games. The rumour in the press after their Hibs cup win was he had 4 games to save his job and he has already lost the first one. Tough game at the weekend on a horrible pitch against Livi too. As a side point it’s funny to see Aberdeen struggling too. They are long overdue a relegation so hopefully it finally happens. They dodged two relegations with rules changes previously. A club who have spent a fortune on players over the years whilst investing zero in their infrastructure when other clubs have invested and upgraded. And who now expect local tax payers to bail them out of their decrepit midden they call a stadium. Up there with the most deluded fan bases in Scotland, their stadium belongs in the Championship.

Rangers drop into the relegation playoff place with Dundee’s win at Dens. With bottom of the league Aberdeen having two league fixtures before Rangers play next in the league it is a distinct possibility Rangers could go bottom of the table

It looks like you are right and the Glasgow press seem to be saying the same too. Incredible really because Martin is massively out of his depth and clearly not capable of a job like Rangers. He has fallen out with their best player, his press conferences have been baffling, there are no signs of any improvement, and his recruitment has been terrible too. He has spent over €30m this preseason and only Aasgaard and Gassama look passable from what I’ve seen. And those two don’t look that great either to be honest. I can’t believe they’re going to potentially trust him with another transfer window. Worrying times for Rangers fans. McInnes like you say however has done great. 8 wins and 2 draws from his 10 competitive games so far. We’ve built a great squad and only spent 4 million this summer. That win yesterday came without our main summer signing too who was out injured.

We are currently shorter odds at the bookies than City to win the title in England. Whilst I’m not expecting a title yet and this season I think that speaks volumes. Only 5 games in but on the pitch this season we are clear ahead in 1st on goals scored, chances created, shots on target, and touches in the opposition box. We have goals and pace throughout the squad. The off the pitch infrastructure is already in place, we are witnessing huge increases in club revenue, Rangers are a perennial mess, Tony Bloom’s involvement and investment and the use of his recruitment and analytics look like being a game changer. A long way to go but I think we should already be targeting 2nd this season. For the first time in my lifetime I am genuinely convinced a league title will happen in the future and hopefully before I snuff it too. Exciting times to be a Hearts fan for sure.

I think with the Jamestown help and Bloom involvement this will only help the club moving forwards. We need to use that to our advantage, grow our revenue further, make further cash from the transfer market, and it puts us in a good spot.

Rumours of a record turnover approaching £30m for the next accounting period too. Just need to make sure the club make the top 6 for the split and qualify for Europe again now too!

Worst part of that decision is Rangers went up the park and scored straight afterwards. It was a stonewall penalty and VAR still ignored it. We should have won the game and were by far the better team. Sickening when they play poo and still beat us. Hearts created enough chances to win 2 or 3 games.

Aye there’s a handful of plums that bring that flag home and way sadly. I saw a Hearts/Leeds one the other day too Looking like Shankland may end up staying for this window at least. I think his agent has been disappointed at the clubs that have shown interest. League 1 and lower Championship. Some rumours of him wanting a new deal but I don’t know how that will go down with the club. Hearts will have millions in investment coming for next season anyway with Bloom’s involvement so I expect there will be a lot of ins and outs in Gorgie. Been quite a few already this January and some money spent. On out of contract players - Fellow Scotland international Zander Clark was keen to leave Hearts too to get first team football but the only club who were interested was Hibs. He has since decided to sign a new contract as the backup number one

That argument would hold water if Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda didn’t make the Japan squad too. But they do. He clearly doesn’t fancy Kyogo for whatever reason. Given your missing players and lack of pace without Kyogo and the suspended Hatate I think it was a decent performance. Hate to say it but both Glasgow clubs have done well in Europe this season.
