  1. Wasn’t a specific thing for me but I remember us playing Villa first game of the season and being really excited for it. Then the prices were released and it became a bit of a sticking point as some of my mates wouldn’t pay that much. Since then as a group we’ve gone less and less.
  2. I was having a look at the table this time last season. The teams in the play-offs and down in the relegation places had more points last season than this year. I’d assume we’re seeing a lot more draws this season, meaning fewer points overall. People say the leagues not as good but you could argue it’s more competitive. For us (pretending there’s not a points deduction coming) I think that’s a good thing. For United you could look it either way, on one hand if they put a decent run together they’ll fly up the table, on the other hand it’s going to be a congested table with a lot of teams, already a fair few points ahead of them, capable of getting top 6. I’d fully expect Ipswich, Southampton and Wrexham to kick on from here for example.
  3. I’ve said this a few times on here but worth repeating. Points deductions take time, especially if you’ve got multiple charges against you. We will get one, whether we get new owners or not, because we’ve breached the rules. Leicester are also expecting a points deduction but don’t know when or how much. I don’t think the EFL are ‘waiting to see how we get on’ - I think they’re waiting to see how many offences we rack up and it’s already a very complex situation. Hopefully we get hit with it this season (as we’re going down whatever). Forest got deducted points in the middle of March a couple of seasons back, so it can be well into the season.
  4. Funny what games stick with you. I’ve got a really vivid memory of driving down the parkway listening to the game on radio Sheffield and going mental when we scored the winner. Can’t believe that’s 10 years ago.
  5. Would like to know how the refs got to 8 minutes. Absolutely zero chance there was that much stoppage time. All a bit dodgy
  6. The way the players have conducted themselves this season, in my opinion, has been fantastic. Whatever they decide is the best course of action, I’m with them
  7. It’s a perfect scenario for Wilder. He’s used the ‘underdog’ card all his career, it’s his only trick, he’s used it when it’s blatantly not true and United fans have still not questioned it. All season he’ll be referring back to ‘we had 0 points on the board in the middle of September’ - he’ll act like they’re all dead and buried and the idiots will believe it and lap it up. Ultimately though their goal is to be promoted and if they don’t do that he’s failed. Just as he failed last season, no matter how much the ‘little old United’ shtick gets wheeled out.
  8. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s anything to do with anything. Leicester are definitely getting a points deduction and they still haven’t received one. They do take a bit of time to hit. The story Si told about the points deduction was blatantly not true. Just being logical you can’t expect to break the rules and not get a punishment.
  9. I said this the first game of the season when they played Birmingham. He just seems to charge around barrelling into people 90% of the time. He’s a nuisance, and has a lot of good qualities, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near the quality for a team wanting to be in the top 2. Although, after I commented on Hirst against Birmingham he went on to score. Hopefully that happens again.
  10. That’s genuinely blown my mind. At what point would these people not go to games.
  11. This is exactly what I was thinking. I work in Manchester, in a job that’s in the same sort of world as the policy implementation role. That salary you could get for half the responsibility at my place. A lot of people will want to work in football but still, it seems very low.
