I'm over it already. Any pig who wants to try and take the pee out of me in the next few days will get congratulations from me for them beating a team worth less than 1 player they brought off the bench. They know it's a hollow victory and they'll be wound up that we don't actually care as much as they would. Unlike them, we aren't defined by how we're doing compared to our city rivals. Let em have this one, we've got bigger things to focus on.

Was great, no traffic at all. I stayed and clapped the players off. Others didn't. Whatever.

Speechless. What did people expect? They closed us down and didn't give us a minute on the ball. We don't have the skill to beat that and if we'd have gone flying in they'd have beaten our press cos they've got about 100 million quids worth of players. Chill out, we've got bigger things on the horizon.

Meh. We've already had our biggest win this season. Enjoy the bragging rights, I would. Hollow though innit?
-
I'm saying it doesn't really matter as we've had the biggest win already this season. Deep down though I'm hoping we don't get absolutely battered. I don't see us winning, a draw would be a phenomenal result and a narrow loss is my prediction. Dare I allow myself to dream we could win is the question? Am I just protecting myself from disappointment? Do I need to stop being a bit of a wet thingy and get excited?

The trick is to start steady in the lower speed cars. Learn how the physics works on corners and stick to the racing line. Once you master it you can up the speed class and difficulty until you're fairly proficient. This along with tuning your cars is how you improve. Then you go online and get your arse handed to you by a 15 year old who has better reaction times than us old codgers. The secret to being happy doing that is to temper your expectations, anywhere mid pack is a good result, anything better than that and I do a lap of honour round the living room.

You say you're the happiest person in the thread but I've spent the morning playing forza 5 in peace and quiet. At my age that makes me happy. If you can top that then fair play.

If there's hot water in the bogs then I won't be renewing.

Guess I should have read your post when it popped up you'd replied while I was posting mine But yeah, bottom line is listen to me and Dave basically. We're obviously wise.

I'm hoping we get a big hitter (on fotty grand a week) who has money and a plan. The plan part is the important bit as we know. Whoever it is, some people are gonna have to get over the fact it's not the Waltons it seems. I know why people want it, it's cos they represent the ideal. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good enough.
-
I went to bed last night thinking Waltons could be in for us and having read this thread today I'm now convinced they aren't. I've no idea why Bizzle is pushing the Waltons still but it seems really weird. I now formally resign from the Waltons in group and am firmly nailing my colours to some other masts. The Walmart dream is over, long live the new dream.

Fully agree.

Can I have it afterward to use as shelter? The cardboard is leaking at the moment and my Mrs is getting fed up with it.

Those down sides shouldn't be a problem if the club is run properly.

Think back over the last few weeks. All the positive news stories about us. All the comments from pundits about how we are the last of the sleeping giants. The last truly scalable club. A huge name in football who should be higher than we are. A fan base that has stuck it out over 20 odd years of dross. Imagine reading all that about the pigs. That's his motivation right there. He knows we're 1 correct decision away from showing the world what he and every other pig fears.

FAO Visiting Blades
latemodelchild replied to Horatio Hornblower's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
If they win, which I fully expect, they'll be bragging. The fact that most of our fans won't be as bothered as they expect will really get under their skin. Personally I don't get involved with 'banter' etc with any blades fans in the real world. Not worth falling out with people. Though I do love some passive aggressive pointing out where they've gone wrong over the years. This Time round I'm all about how they have 1 player that cost more than our entire first team etc. Feed the paranoia a bit, ramps up the pressure on em which they usually hate. They know they bottle the big games often. -
Having seen Hillsborough Corner last derby day I'm not surprised tbh. It would be the same if the tram went up to brammal lane, their fans would all congregate near the petrol station and block the road. They pretty much do that anyway on derby day so the roads are closed now. Went past last Saturday and had to detour round by the station to get to Queens Road as brammal Lane is closed on match days.

Did DC choose the Administrators?
latemodelchild replied to owlsite's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
In my mind he appointed the administration team then discovered one of em is a season ticket holder and he's absolutely raging about it. He's currently looking at the response to him going and absolutely raging about it. He's seeing the attendances and spending figures and absolutely raging about it. He's seeing the 11 interested parties providing 50m proof of funds, realising he could have made more money and he's absolutely raging about it. -
Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!
latemodelchild replied to BIG D's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
When my lad was 3 or 4 years old, he's 19 now, he was football mad. I explained to him that Wednesday are rubbish at the moment but when we're good, we're absolutely incredible. He saw us beat arsenal and loved it. We've done away days and Wembley trips. When we beat Peterborough we were on the pitch in tears. He told me he finally knew what is been saying all these years. I want us to be good again for him and every other kid like him. We can get the fans back and bring in new ones. It'll take time, effort and money, but it will happen with the right owner. -
I'm not getting ahead of myself as I trust the administration guys at the moment. We can't really change what they do so have to hope they end up with a good owner buying us. I'm happily reading bits of info and rumours on here without believing any of it. It's entertaining until it gets silly. People need to chill out and enjoy it.

The Paolo Di Canio referee push vs Arsenal
latemodelchild replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I was there as a guest of Puma who did our kit at the time. Great view of it from the south stand. And when that last minute goal went in, my word. -
This is a fantastic initiative and the statement etc explaining it is really clear. And there's a video showing you what to do. The difference between this and the previous regime is incredible. I'm at a loss to understand what he was playing at for the last 10 seasons. So many easy decisions that he got wrong. It's actually quite frightening to think about how bad we were. And the people doing this aren't 'football people' either. They're money people and they're people people. It's so easy to get fans onside.
