  1. I agree and same here. I expected us to be setting all sorts of unwanted records but considering the dire situation that clown left us in, the team are doing us proud. We seriously lack quality & experience, that much is clear. But we are still giving our opponents decent games and (most of the time) not embarrassing ourselves. We might still beat Toytown's record low Championship points finish, but even if we do it might not *really* count because of the points deduction distorting it. I can see us picking up draws and maybe even nicking the odd win here & there. I just hope we can really raise our game against the Bumhole Lane Snorters two weeks from now. I'd take a mind-numbingly dour 1-0 win with an own goal in our favour now.
  2. Harsh on Jordan Rhodes.
  3. Same here. Like most of us on here, I've written off this season and fully expect us to finish bottom. But when you're on the bones of your arse, the only way is up. And despite the results so far I'm actually proud of the performances that this threadbare & inexperienced squad is putting in. Provided we get some new owners in with a plan on how to actually run a football club properly, I'm optimistic for the long term.
  4. We won the second half. (Just trying to be positive!)
  5. Can't remember to be honest. Have since heard though (on Radio Sheffield) that only the C and the H have so far been removed, so some hack appears to have been jumping the gun.
  6. "The Last Farewell" (by Roger Whittaker) One of my late dad's favourites. Also: Farewell Is a Lonely Sound (Jimmy Ruffin) Bye Bay Baby (Bay City Rollers) Only When You Leave (Spandau Ballet) Say Goodbye to Hollywood (Billy Joel) ..... replace 'Hollywood' with 'Hillsborough' (same number of syllables) and it works! Good Riddance (Green Day)
  7. More like a comatose giant. But as a wise man once said: when you're on the bones of your arse, the only way is up! Tomorrow was a momentous day, which will hopefully have a knock-on effect on the pitch today.
  8. Hoy them into the Don. I've also read that the Chansiri ego seats in the North were unceremoniously taken out within about an hour of the administrators officially being appointed.
  9. Hopefully the white seats and those elephants will be the first things to go.
  10. Mad I know, but I'm sticking a tenner on us to do just that.
  11. Dawn of a new era!! I was so ********-a-hoop over the news today and filled with so much joy and optimism for the future that I decided that over the weekend, I'm going to pop into the bookies and stick the tenner I found the other day in a jacket pocket on us actually staying up this season. Points deduction and all. I did also briefly consider alternative (and arguably far wiser) investment options such as setting fire to it, or tearing it into little pieces and scattering to the four winds. But no - a flutter down at BetFred it shall be as a suitable way to mark the occasion. And I'm not even a gambling man normally. I don't know what odds I'll get but if we avoid the drop, there's even a chance I might never have to work again. It has to be done!
  12. Will we ever see those days again? When we went down in 2000, how many of us would have honestly thought we'd stay down for the next quarter of a century (and counting). I know I didn't. I thought maybe a couple of seasons. Three or four at most.
  13. Give it time and he could end up being our very own Piggy Wilder.
  14. You appear to believe that criticising Chansiri and criticising a supposedly senior player who can't be @rsed to make a even a token effort (while we've got youngsters running their socks off) are mutually exclusive. Why?
  15. Surely you mean "grift", not "graft"?!
  16. "It'll be a great tournament. A beautiful tournament. The best tournament ever. Everybody knows it, everybody says so."
  17. They were supposed to bring us luck, weren't they?!
  18. It's Wednesday lunchtime and I've only just stopped laughing at the Blunts' result against Charlton. I need a glass of water. So much for the "new/old manager bounce".
  19. To be fair to Grimsby, our fight is not their fight. They are under no obligation to help us, and nor should we expect them to boycott a game against us just because we want our chairman out. Their first loyalty is to their own club as ours is to Wednesday. If the tables were turned and we took 5 or 6 thousand to a midweek cup game at a struggling club, I'm guessing that wouldn't be an issue. They just want to support their team and enjoy their win, and I have no problem with that. We'd do the same if the situation were reversed. Our own 3,500 who turned up however .....
  20. Me too. Although this is even worse. Or at least it already feels even worse. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong come May, but I can see us setting all sorts of embarrassing, unwanted records this season.
  21. Given what dire straits we're in ourselves, we shouldn't laugh too hard at the Blunts' current predicament. But we can laugh a bit, and I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it for as long as it lasts. And they've got Boro next who have 3 wins out of 3 .
  22. The big and very important difference here is that theirs is a mindless, visceral hatred for us just because we are Wednesday. There's no logic to it beyond pure primitive tribalism. Wednesday fans' hatred for Chansiri is because of what he's doing to our club, to the point that if it carries on for too much longer we might not even have a club any more.
  23. Definitely. And going to such a horrible plastic club as well. He could have done a lot better.
