If Röhl gets the Glasgow Rangers job
Uhu replied to danblakemore's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
To answer the OP, no.. Glasgow's a lovely city. Pretty sure they had hair dryers in the hotel I stayed in. And German is closer to the dialect than English so he'll be able to communicate fine. Anyway if he goes there I wish him well -
I'm also in the dark as to what point deductions are coming and when. I don't think it's fair on us or other teams to have this uncertainty. Without a significant point deduction it would be a tall order anyway for us to stay up for reasons stated in the thread already. But we've performed miracles before and the team has already exceeded expectations. So I understand the OPs point because it's nice to be given something to hang out hopes on. The main thing though is to still some semblance of a team and team spirit when we emerge from the Chansiri hole. So let's keep positive about the efforts the lads are putting in

We all love haddock more than tuna

We'll find out next round

It's been a great night. I listened on radio five live and the boycott got through loud and clear. That made me proud of the club, then the team did Well done everyone. Love the Owls but can't profess to have invested as much as some in the club. So maybe I speak for the"silent" masses. Well it's easy for me living down south but I don't think I would have gone to this match even if I'd been in Sheffield tonight. It wouldn't have felt right. It would have felt right to join the boycott. But let's not demonise those that went. We're all the same club...it needs the die hards and the masses. It needs a United fan base (which interesting was referenced several times in the commentary tonight). Anyway the young team tonight gave me something. They reminded me anything is possible. Well done those organising the protests and support (I'll try to get to the London one) . Keep it up. Let's wish Chansiri away and good times ahead

I just realised Lord Snooty started this thread...the team really will fight on!

Quite emotional that. The spirit's there, so good to see. Love these players.

Makes you proud to support the Wednesday
-
Stop the season now! Positions stand as they are!

I think it's a positive statement. They have to be careful what they say. But we can start the season, daily dialogue and a strong hint they are pushing for him to sell. Still feeling less upbeat than after Bannan re-signed though because I'm not sure who has what power to get rid of Chansiri.

EFL impose new restrictions on Wednesday

Maybe he didn't re-sign. He resigned. -
Wish him well. Goes to show we can sign talent even if we can't always keep hold of it!

Austria's main broadcaster with a nice pic of Ozzy Owl

Yes I did think that. Then he's got reason to be. -
Starting XI v Leicester City

I'm surprised Ugbo is still here but this would be the time for him to click wouldn't it -
Oh my mistake. Thanks for putting me right. No false rumour intended

Not having that. I know it was set in Liverpool but the royle family was very funny...

I actually find a slither of comfort that Bannan hasn't already gone and I think a lot of reports him going are just baseless assumptions. With Pederson taking the managerial role too, that's a core to work around, even if it's regrettably in a lower league. I get that for most players the payment situation is the straw that breaks the camel's back, but for Bannan and Pederson do they look forward already to a rebuild with Bannan in the coaching team. Ha that's my pure conjecture but somehow the Owls spirit will live on and maybe Bannan wants that still.

They've kept the story on for the 10 o'clock bulletin. For us strange ones that watch late evening TV news.
-
I know what you mean. On the one hand I'm happy for them to be doing well, but it's so annoying to think what they might have achieved with us
-
Can we register them in time for the Leicester game?

Question that we might not want the answer to
Uhu replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Luton were docked 30 points and I think the season before they were docked 10. All part of their slide into the Conference. -
Andy Giddings - Players possibly refusing to play.
Uhu replied to SallyCinnamon's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No it wouldn't. The club is its supporters. The club is its history and the club is the team that makes the grass roots development happen. It's not the rich boy gamblers playing their fantasy game at the club's expense -
Why are you going to the first home game?
Uhu replied to MF TAZ's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Can understand the need to support the young guns and stick with the club through tough times. That's really commendable. Also we need to think about how to retain and win young fans. But something has to happen, assuming the elusive good news we all wait for doesn't drop. Probably impractical but if thousands travelled to the games and had somewhere to gather / cheer on the team/ celebrate the Wednesday spirit outside the ground (eg local park), if that's a significant number compared to those in the ground and publicised right (so our team know they're supported and the press pick it up too) it could be a positive way forward. Everyone gets a day out, the team at least know they're being supported. But if course it's effectively staging an event every time with all the implications and costs of permissions, safety, cleaning up afterwards. So maybe pie in the sky. Just thinking out loud.
