So many armchair protestors on here
-
I’m a Member not ST holder (live too far away). Obviously I won’t be renewing for my son and myself until Chansiri is gone. However, I would like to enjoy the minor moral victory of not renewing. Have the membership renewal requests already been sent out and I’ve missed it?

I thought I couldn’t live without It, but it’s basically like an extended summer. None of the hopeful, ITK, gossip has come to fruition and we’re left with a shambles. I was gutted, but now I’m just finding other things to do. It’s depressing, I feel I my club has been robbed, I have waves of extreme frustration, but clinging desperately to the news every day and sitting through the matches just seems pointless. I’m on pause until we’re sold.

The reality is, unless you want to start intimidating Wednesday fans into not going, it’s very unlikely a total boycott will be achieved. The point was made, and if some people choose to go for whatever reason, leave them at it. Keep focusing on what’s important - constant disruption for Chansiri, keep encouraging and trying to convince.

Will Fans Stop Saying They're ITK
Sparkwell76 replied to Shezmeister's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think what we’ve learned over the past few months is that those that claim to be ITK are not. That’s led to a lot of false hope, but at least know we know to ignore any future ITK posts - fool me once and all that. -
Time for The Trust to back a TOTAL boycott

You really need to ignore this. Do what YOU think is right. There is so much commentary on here on the decisions of others. Just get on with it, lead from the front. -
Protest in London on September 4th

Every time someone actually bothers to take some kind of proactive action, a load of people comment on how it should have been done differently, but most likely without doing anything themselves.- 396 replies

Trust have covered all bases as best as possible here, and no doubt it will generate good coverage that keeps the pressure on. It’s a marathon we’re in for and the Trust has no option but to balance impact with compliance. They’re really doing an excellent job leading from the front with most people backing them.

Focus on encouraging and promoting the protests and disruption. Don’t worry about those that aren’t - they might have perfectly valid reasons, but it’s immaterial. Coverage on Sky was plain to see.

Is this the worst day ever?
Sparkwell76 replied to danblakemore's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Only the bad stuff. None of the good stuff (e.g. takeover by rich person imminent) -
The issue is the money won’t be invested whether it’s £1m or £10m - it will just be lost in a black hole and preserves Chancer’s tenure.

Hi Simon - in case there’s no notification , I just sent you a PM on here. Thanks

Good question. But I don’t think so in that their wages claim would be against the legal entity not him. Maybe some kind of claim but not contract or payment wages.
-
Absolutely true but they will also be weighing up the options and best outcome vs other jobs. Plus resigning doesn’t priced you from taking a payment of wages claim. It will be case by case but for some people they might prefer to go for a new job than wait in the hope that things improve. It really will start to impact the operational running of the club soon I would have thought.

It is a risk. Both Finance and HR people are employable wherever. If the people involved in payroll walk it can be a right pain trying to backfill what they do at the best of times - very often there’s one person who is a single point of failure with access to confidential payroll info. I was thinking myself if they go, it could become increasingly difficult just to keep functioning, even if the cash becomes available. Many other roles too, of course, but there are some in particular that will cause quite immediate operational problems.

This is a really good overview, thanks

You obviously have a good understanding of the process. Would have been cool if you helped people along.

Look, there are no altruistic owners. They want something - money from promotion, vanity, laundering dirty cash, sports washing, who knows? But rarely does an owner gives a sheeiite about the city or fans. The problem with Chansiri is he’s beyond incompetent. Most owners want to make efforts to progress and win in some way or another, but he’s like Homer Simpson running the plant.

A huge week for Sheffield Wednesday
Sparkwell76 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I’m not sure it’s publicly posted anywhere that they are paid or overdue so I don’t think it’s easy to check. -
That Danny is spilling the beans to

Danny Röhl - will he or won’t he
Sparkwell76 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Danny’s a professional. He obviously can’t abide the owner and the environment, and that he wants out, but if he’s still contracted to the club I’d say it’s a certainty that he’ll turn up. -
Completely depends on the terms of the agreement, which no one on here has access to. So agreed, not a fact at all
