  1. I could not agree more. Chansiri is done. He couldn’t make payroll. That’s so basic to running a team, it’s a fireable offense. And this isn’t the first time. No amount of damage control can fix it. This is why I believe we need to appeal to the authorities to help us.
  2. my grandmother was an artist who traveled the world. When she was in her 70s, she married a guy from Sheffield. He was 45 (!) a shipbuilder, and had a skin disease that made him look older than her. Together they smoked filterless cigarettes and drank room temperature beer (which I assume is a Yorkshire trait). They smelled terrible. Anyhoo, he gave be my first Wednesday shirt. That was 1993. I kept following. Owl for life!
  3. Thanks for replying! US sports and politics are DEEPLY flawed. And I like the concept of relegation/promotion. And I am proud of all of you who are protesting this ownership. my purpose for the post was to tell fans who don’t feel comfortable protesting that they might consider calling or writing their elected officials. 4. As a US native, 30 year Owls supporter (backstory upon request), I have been watching this train wreck. I need to share my thoughts. First, the fact that Chansiri can’t make payroll means he is unfit to run the team. The debate is over. This is insane. If this occurred in the USA, he would be immediately relieved of ownership. There is no possible way out. He must sell. Second, fans cannot be expected to remove an owner (there is no way to force this) nor find a buyer (that’s asinine). This is a case where we need a higher authority to step in. Where is the football league in this? Surely they want to help a club in distress. How does it benefit them to have this owner running this club into the ground? They come down on clubs for idiot fans, but do they help a team when the owner is ruining things? Where is the government? Sheffield Wednesday FC carries the name of a proud city. Are the MPs aware of this threat to one of the city’s institutions? Are they ready to help? You’d better believe a US congressperson would be ready to help a bunch of voters/donors.
  5. Here in San Diego, California and this made my heart full. Cant wait to see it live for the first time!
  6. Thanks for answering, everyone! American Owl, learning how this works.
  7. Sorry, with you all the way but a dumb question-what does #15 mean?
  8. “The ball don’t lie.” -Rasheed Wallace
  9. I said it before and I’ll say it again.
  10. Can we get an official flat cap to go with the shirt? Work on THAT, marketing department.
  11. Just shut up and take my money.
  12. First off, I am NOT trying to jinx anything. I am just wondering about this because I have never seen a promotional campaign succeed. If we are promoted, which of our players is Championship-caliber and which are not? Would promotion mean we need to replace most of the roster?
  13. Smith was great, Bannan, James…does Paterson earn a “10” by definition because he played 60 seconds and scored on his only touch?
