The Wembley architects wanted to incorporate the twin towers in to the new Wembley but the costs were prohibitive, and that was a £billion project. The numbers guys will work out the best option but I can't see how we leave Hillsborough, unless we follow the plans from some of our fans which always involve displacing hundreds of families and businesses

It's not "completely irrelevant". From a football legislation standpoint it's probably fine, but from a "should we invest hundreds of millions in to London-based Arsenal, who are battling for the premier league title, the European Cup, with a World class squad, modern stadium and training facilities etc or invest hundreds of millions in to every aspect of Sheffield Wednesday in the hope they might bother the top 6 in the championship" standpoint, which one makes more financial sense?

Give it a rest, your last piece of evidence was based on someone with the surname Walton sitting in the posh seats. Before that it was a tenuous link between us and a company that had worked with the Waltons, or something like that. Plus the fact that Stan Kroenke owns Arsenal makes it very unlikely that the Waltons are out to buy another UK club, particularly one that needs huge investment from the get go. We'll end up with Methven or Shaw.

It's not negativity, I've just never understood our fans literal obsession with being a big club and having big attendances, neither of which are true. Our fans lie about attendances.. Why? What's the point? No other fanbase is like this. We have a big, classic, historical stadium. A bit of money and we can go back to 39k seats, but even during the good times we only fill 70% of it. Isn't it nearly 60 years since we averaged 30k for a season? We clearly have a strong hardcore element of 20k fans which is amazing, but we need to stop kidding ourselves that we're gonna start selling out any time soon. The Norwich and Oxford games are further proof of this. And as for those mentioning us in the same breathe as Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham etc.. Grow up. The early 90s was 30 years ago. Southampton, Leicester, Norwich, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Brighton, Wolves, Forest, are all bigger than us now.

Except by the 98/99 season we were still only averaging 26k, Everton averaged 36k! Even Derby averaged 29k. So we plateaued. There's nothing to suggest Hillsborough isn't big enough for us. It always has been always will be (unless more of it gets condemned of course)

So an extra £10k (or 2 days of Mr Bannan) with no guarantees of any additional income from these fans. It would've made more sense if our fans actually turned up but would've made even more sense to charge normal prices while riding the crest of the good-times wave

Another point to make is that he's either buying us or a superyacht. The superyacht is still for sale and there's been no progress there.. How the other half live

Looks like my follow up post was nuked. A lot has happened since then but at the time the frontrunner (American, not a known name, super rich but not ultra wealthy) was very keen to take us over but as mentioned didn't want any financial or legal responsibility for Hillsborough, but his offer would provide additional funds via rent in order to expedite necessary repairs (and make his offer more attractive). In the nuked post I mentioned the sanctions check I had previously done a few months ago (prior to any indication of any interest in us) had a few uncomfortable crypto dealings. I assume he's someone that has put forward proof of funds but no idea as it stands.

I'm a blunt because I'm questioning the validity of bringing in less money when we're on the verge of liquidation and the one thing we need is money?

And what do we need to stay afloat? MONEY!!!

I don't post here much so I'm clearly not after attention. I'm just a stickler for the facts and have an uncanny ability to see through bullcrap (the "takeover by Tuesday" fella was a highlight, and thebizzle continues to offer hilarity in every post). Simply put, we're in the most desperate situation we've been in since mandaric took over. We're literally dying and every penny counts right now. 22000 fans paying on average £30 = £660,000 28000 fans paying on average £2 = £560,000 It's a significant difference in our current situation. We have an awful reputation for constantly making out that attendance numbers are more important than anything (winning, income etc). What we need right now is money not hyperbole about attendances.

I'd bloody hope so too considering we were boycotting and official figures is more like 6k, which makes it worse. Highly publicised, cheap tickets, and only 6k more than when we had expensive tickets and a boycott.
