Rio Shipston Signs Pro Deal
Mike Bassett replied to gypsyowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Excellent news, our best youth player by far. Needs to keep working on his temperament but should signs of progression by not reacting to some physical attention from the Barnsley players in the youth cup game. Hopefully in the squad this weekend and given a chance to play too. -
Wasn't it Jay-Z?

More plaudits for Darren Moores SWFC

Goals win games, defences win championships cliche of the day thank you -
The amount of base layers and gloves in that picture is most shocking, short sleeve shirts, socks below the knee or subs bench.... anyway, how many players have scored at least one of the hundred goals? Anyone know?

Shipston is likely to be in the squad with Byers, Bannan and Adeniran all struggling right now. From what I've seen Agbontahoma, Adetoro and Ashman are no improvement at CB. the only one he may look at is Fusire but he won't be needed if we go to a back four. The others are talented but not yet ready

Now very concerned

Interesting on same day we are linked with an Everton striker. If Bannan is out got a while, then we need everyone to step up and be more inventive and create more, the Barnsley / Plymouth / Ipswich run at the end of Jan is huge. If Santa loves us Byers And Bannan are ready and firing for those. -
Obviously both of Bannan and Byers return if picked but if not need to keep it simple Stockdale Palmer McGuinness Famewo James Vaulks DeleBash Bakinson Paterson Smith Windass Dawson, Iorfa, Fusire, Shipston, Mighten, Gregory, Cadamarteri

What would be your attacking options?
Mike Bassett replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Palmer and Johnson wide as wingbacks Bannan and Byers central with Dele-Bash at ten Smith and Gregory up top. first advice to everyone is twenty crosses per half and go from there -
For me should play as a number ten every week with Bannan and ideally Byers behind him, Smith plus one of Gregory/Windass ahead of him he's a fabulous talent

Look at this very carefully

Our pre-Christmas form last season left us with too big a gap to catch but we are in the perfect position to make a run for it now and our squad depth will be a major factor as the fixtures pile up over the next few weeks our record vs the top six is poor but we still have them all to play so chances to correct that. The big difference for me this year is our ability to play poorly and win and pick up points in games that are attritional and scrappy. long may it continue -
Away at Crewe on Saturday then the Birmingham game scheduled for the 17th has been postponed. No cup draw as yet full fixtures and reports here on OS under matches tab

He signed his first pro deal in mid November

Finally got round to watching the highlights and I think it's worth mentioning Liam Palmer's through ball to Johnson for our first goal. in real time during the game it looked decent but on second viewing it's an incredible pass. To break there defensive line and hit Johnson in his stride was weighted to perfection. If a premier league player made that Sky would bring a documentary out on it. Congrats to Liam for some real quality.

I'd pay to rehouse the family from the row behind me as the bloke calls Bannan Barry Ba-None really loudly all game and his son uses the back of my chair as a kicking toy, improve my experience no end. more Generally I liked the idea of the McKee mural and repaint on the Kop cladding.

We badly need Byers back, fingers crossed his fit

Lee Gregory would walk across fire for Darren Moore
Mike Bassett replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
He played like he'd badly burnt his feet today. Looked in some pain when taken off too with only one boot on so a bad day for Gregory today -
Dawson 6 hunt 2 - think he's finished sadly inihekwe - 4 palmer -7 johnson -6 Vaulks - 3 Dele-Bashiru -4 Wilks - -1 abysmal Paterson - 3 Mighten - 4 gregory - 3 Bannan - 7 Iorfa - 5 Smith - 8 mom mcguiness - n/a watching hunt today was painful, the illness has sadly ruined him, if he were a race horse the kindest thing would be to shoot him, as he's a footballer well just never pick again him them release him in summer wilks - ye gods he's poor, looks heavy, no movement, no pace, no trickery and to think we chased him all summer

World Cup Week one is nearly over
Mike Bassett replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I feel about it the same as like the Iranian keeper I'm sure does, a childhood dream to play in the World Cup, within 5 mins I'm rolling round on the floor concussed with half my nose back in Tehran and by the end of the first game I'm praying it's all over soon. -
Surely it would have made more sense to play our strongest eleven today and keep the triallists for the friendly games between now and Jan?
