  1. I'd never looked at it like that , and now I'm never goiong to unsee it ! It can land in the rubble when the new owners knock down this stand for good !
  2. For what it's worth, I think this is an excellent peice of work, and I 100% agree with idea of keeping both bagdes, the tradditional badge for the stadium and South stand etc. becuase it's as engrained in our history as much as blue and white stripes, probably more so than the 70's badge, but then keep the 70's badge for the shirts and everything else. I'm not sure the changes being suggested to the 70's owl work though. Removing the gaps and curves to the beak and back makes it look less active and a bit fat !... so keep both as has been suggested and don't change owt' !
  3. Not having that, I call AI. No matter how poor we are, we wouldnt do a job as shoddy as that.. and there's no way the H&S procedure has passsed go for that method either !
  4. Brilliant thread and 100% agree ! Also, all those people that went on the forums and the radio saying 'the protests won't work', 'he's not there and can't see them' and 'defunding him won't work and we're only punishing the club'.... it absolutley did work and now you have the evidence ! @Ian bennett... A couple of suggestions when the dust settles and we're in discussions with the new owners... I think all new shirt designs should have the Wednesday Trust badge on the back above the WAWAW. I also think that everyone who buys or renews a season ticket or Membership they should automatically be enroled in the trust with the £10 fee added on to the purchase total, but then you're given the option to remove it before payment so it remains democratic. Like a donor card where the default is in but you can opt out (not that you should). That would swell membership again and I don't think many would object, but if they do they can easily opt' out. If the club bought in to that it would also show unison with the Trust going forward.
  5. Not really. He's got more baggage than Mary Poppins and and he wheels and deals more than Del Boy... and we just don't want or desrve all that after all we've been through. Hopefully theres something a lot better on the horizon
  6. Because the bid that adds up to $550 is in dollars and the coversion is to £400m... but it's really £150m with a share offer on top.
  7. Textor bid for Wolves This article today regarding the bid and all of Textors dealings, should be all the red flags we need to see. No way with all that baggage does Textor pass the fit and proper person test from the EFL, the Regulator or our admistrators, and it would take months to get through all of that and get a deal over the line !
  8. It's a $200m offer in cash plus $340 in shares according some reports and it's been rejected ! This is exactly why I beleive we need to avoid Textor like the plague. He wants his multi club model so he can juggle players and cash between them all, which is the exact opposite of what all the governing bodies want. There is plenty of smoke warings out there between Crystal Palace and the clubs in Brazil and France. We need owner thats devoted to our cause alone.
  9. The 'I' letters will be quicker but 'S''s will be a ***** !
  10. It should be like the liberation of France in WWII, where all DC collaborators are dragged out in to the centre circle at half time to have thier head shaved !
  11. I've bought a ticket on the kop for tomorrows game. First game back for a long time. I'm going to be a mess !!!
  12. I've lodged a complaint to the BBC... As you are no doubt aware, there is currently considerable turmoil at Sheffield Wednesday FC, and supporters, MP's and many others alike are doing all they can to put an end to the current disasterous ownership regime and ensure the survival of this historic founding football club. The SWFC Trust organised a boycott of last nights game against Middlesborough so the impact could be seen and felt on the live broadcast on Sky TV, and this was a resounding success resulting in a very empty stadium (there are plenty of images on line if you care to look). I noticed that your BBC Sport web site and the report on this game did not quote the official attendance in the normal way when the game was finished, but instead provided a figure of 21,578 at lunch time today. This is very clearly incorrect and it undermines the efforts of all those involved in last nights protest. I don't know if the attendance figure you've now reported has been provided to you by the club or if someone at the BBC has inputted it incorrectly, but as it currently stands it represents mis-information and is somewhat offensive to all those involved in the current efforts and struggles, and I would ask that you seek to addresss this as soon as possible by establishing and reporting the correct attendance. I would also suggest, and it would also be of some help, if you ran a feature on the impact of the boycott last night, as there are lots of images available.
  13. Always winds me up when one of our own go down 'injured' during extra time. It doesn't help because the ref' extends the time anyway and the other team gets a rest and re-grouos so they can come at you again, and usually, as Birmingham did last night, the other team scores. Just play the extra minutes and get off the pitch. Peterborough did it against us in the miracle and Palmer scored, Palmer goes down last night and Birmingham score !
  14. It goes hand in hand with these graphs, but I've always said that the teams with the worst negative goal difference are nearly always the ones that end up in the bottom three. Equally those with the best postive goal difference get promoted. You start reducing your negative goal difference and lifting above the otheres, your blue bars will go up !
  15. No we shouldn't. If we buy tickets (and shirts etc.) he might have enough money to keep running the club on a shoe string from month to month, surprising staff and players with and without a pay packet each month, and without adding investment to any other part of the club. If you buy a ticket you're buying into his hand to mouth regime which is unsustainable !
  16. Someone messaged Football Heaven last night to say 'if we don't go to the Leeds game we're taking funding away from the club when it needs it most to pay the staff and players wages' ! Rob Staton had the perfect reply... 'you're missing the point, if DC needs the income from a mid week second round cup game to pay the wages, and if fans don't go then the staff and palyers don't get paid, then that is wholly unacceptable as it's unsustaianble and he's not capabale of funding the club properly'. I'd add to that, what if we don't get to the next round and the round after that... does that make it OK not to pay the wages because we haven't got any extra revenue streams ?!!
  17. It's in pencil, you could just rub it out !
  18. It's just ******** garbage, as all the kits this year... DC: How can we pay half price this year for 3 new kit designs ? Macron: Well Ok, we can do them for half price but we'll have to grab the blind tramp from under the flyover to design them. DC: OK, can they operate the software ? Macron: Well, we sacked him in the 90's but he knows his way around Clipart. DC: Thats OK, we still use that system too !
  19. ... except the trim is pink and black not red (not that that makes it any better like) !
  20. Just plain lilac would've been fine. I'm sick of these gash patterns in the fabric. Last years zig zag in the stripes was crap too !
  21. Not sure we'll be permitted to ware that against Leicester anyway as it's a bit close to blue, so I suspect we'll be in the Orange kit anyway. Don't get too near pitch side though beacause it's not been washed since last season because we haven't paid the water bill or the laundry staff !
  22. I've come round to this line of thought now, and the fact that the club will probably cover it up so you can't see his name linked with the closure of the stand !
  23. With the Northstand now likely to be closed for the first home game, can we now organsie blue bags to be paced over the whte Chansiri seats ? That would look great on the TV.
  24. DR has done absolutley nothing wrong in accpeting the payment off DC to terminate his contract. Almost eveyone who is employed in any job is due a payment if they are made redundant or asked to leave imeadatley without working thier notice period. All the management jobs DR could have gained have now gone by and he is going to have to wait until someone sacks thier manager early in to the season, so I would imagine that payment will tide him over until then. The stories are there in abundance, DC is a complete d1ckhead when it comes to negotiations and there are now lots of examples where he has waited until the last minute and then demanded more. He's done it with sponsors, youth player loans and senior player transfers and loans. I have no doubt whatsover that DC has hehaved in the same way over the negotiations for setttlements when approached on the prosepct of DR managing other clubs and they've all told him to do one ! Well now it's back fired on him and instead of getting several million as compo' for DR he's now had to pay his contract off in accordance with the terms of the contract that he gave him, twice ! I'm sick of the bullsh1t being aimed at DR, when not only is he one of the best managers we've ever had but he's the one who's acted with 100% integrity throughout all this, and it took some poroper balls to come back after all that happened. I don't think there are many people out there that would work for very long under DC's regeime or anything similar in any kind of job.
  25. Just to add to this. The reason the EFL were able to disqualify the Reading owner is because he had been convicted of criminal activity, and that isn't the case with Chansiri. The element that worries me is the statement that 'the EFL know how Chansiri is funding the club but were not prepared to say'. It's one of two scenarios here, either Chansiri has the necessary funds and is able to prove that to the EFL, in which case all this latest shananigans is becuase he's just being vindictive and now not putting those funds in or, he's lied to the EFL or his financial situation has changed and he no longer has the funds. In either scenario though he must have now broken some EFL rules or requirements.
