  1. The other day I saw a post either on here or maybe it was something in The Star, suggesting that the new owners could enter in to negotiations with the EFL about dropping the embargoes they have levied. As the title says. Does anyone know?? .
  2. Ladies and gentlemen On behalf of all the people assembled here I would merely like to mention if I may That our unanimous attitude Is one of lasting gratitude For what our friend has done for us today And therefore I would simply like to say Thank you very much! Thank you very much! That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me I may sound Double-Dutch But my delight is such I feel as if a losing war's been won for me And if I had a flag I'd hang my flag out To add a sort of final victory touch But since I left my flag at home I'll simply have to say Thank you very, very, very much! Thank you very, very, very much! Thank you very much! Thank you very much! That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me It sounds a bit bizarre But things the way they are I feel as if another life's begun for me And if I had a cannon I would fire it To add a sort of celebration touch But since I left my cannon at home I'll simply have to say Thank you very, very, very much! Thank you very, very, very much! Thank you very much! Thank you very much! That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me It isn't everyday Good fortune comes my way I never thought the future would be fun for me And if I had a bugle I would blow it To add a sort of 'ow's-your-father touch But since I left my bugle at home I'll simply have to say Thank you very, very, very much! Now bugger off back to canning fish! Ladies and Gentlemen reading this We maybe Owls, but with this news I am positive a Phoenix is about to rise up Up The Owls WTID WAWAW
  3. Thank you HarrowbyOwl - I do appreciate your insight and the link provided. The sooner the IFR can get going the better for all not just SWFC .
  4. Three weeks ago The Yorkshire Post reported that David Kogan, the proposed chairperson of the Independent Football Regulator, was being investigated after it emerged he had donated money to Sir Keir Starmer and to Lisa Nandy in their respective bids for the Labour leadership in 2020. Has that investigation concluded? What was the outcome, because to quote Lisa Nandy, the delay in his appointment is having “real world consequences” for football clubs and their supporters. That said, the matter slipped-off the Teflon shoulders of the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, and into the lap of Stephanie Peacock, Minister for Sport, Tourism, Civil Society and Youth. Another payday has been and gone. Staff have seen partial payments, players none. As a consequence we can anticipate more embargoes from the EFL who stick to their regulations and penalise the club and not the owner. But then let's face it, the EFL in its current form is much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. I for one sincerely hope that the IFR will look to re-vamp the EFL in due course. With no clear indication as to when the IFR will finally begin their work, could/would a petition delivered to Ms. Peacock generate some meaningful action against the owner? Has the Trust considered this?? or are these the ramblings of a near 60 year old Wednesdayite Thank you for reading WAWAW

  10. "I just think the Football League needs to look at how it has allowed a great football club to be bought by people who have not had the best interests of the club at heart." 100% AGREE!
  11. Agree. We need all we can get
  12. A shining example of positivity . . . . NOT! Have some trust the Supporter's Trust
  13. exactly what the third man said in response - represent the club on occasion look beyond regulations, and act where it is not the club that are at fault but the owner(s) of the club
  14. They are about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike!
  15. Quick thought: Our chairman does realise that the offer is in UK £ and it is not Thai ฿ ฿100,000,000.00 = £2,270,582.00 If Channers cannot get this deal done, I'm boycotting John Wests tuna for life!

  19. Other than Gareth Southgate, I can't think of any recent 'home grown' success stories. And I know few might say contrary. Seeing a reply from Basement Jack in today's match day thread prompted Jack Charlton - defender and pretty decent manager. And at the opposite end of the field Brian Clough. From the same era, and the midfield, Johan Cruyff. .
  20. As the silly season is back upon us, with managers all ready getting chopped, I wondered if anyone has ever looked to see of those professional ex-players, who had the most success, and if there was a relationship between that success and where they normally played on the pitch. For example; is an ex-player who predominantly played in defence, more likely to be a successful manager as opposed to a manager who played up front? I appreciate that a lot of factors need to be considered, what is the measure of success - number of titles, cups won or tenure in the role food for thought .
  21. I am studying an online course in lip-reading and sign language.
  22. I would like to add, when is the club shop going to get more??
  23. EXCELLENT RESULT!! They're getting better
