All I've seen from The Wednesday Week recently is that he needs to go. How is that different to anyone else's stance? Previously noone has been allowed to record or broadcast, even the journalists at fans forums were t allowed, so don't think you can blame lack of reporting on them. Rob Station works for the BBC so if local journos are allowed then the BBC will be there. The WTID podcast have had much bigger issues than choosing not be political.
-
So because I say we should be reasonable and allow the staff who have worked in this poo show without paying for months time off like everyone else I must work there? I don't work, and have never worked, for the club. But I do work for an organisation where I've had occasion to contact MPs and secretaries and I've never gotten a response same day.
-
Are they though? Who decided that the WTID podcast should be the broadcast partner for the Trust? Did the Trust consult with the other fan groups before making these demands? Why the short deadline? Given that Monday is a bank holiday and accounting for the time difference it doesn't give the people at the club much time to discuss, arrange and respond.

Agreed. But the stated aim of the protests is not to generate publicity, it's to refund the owner. This doesn't do that. Added to which, after all the media saying how great our fans are for following the club even at this troubled time a completely empty away end would grab their attention even more.

This isn't about Dejphon Chansiri
PeaksOwl replied to YesWeCrann's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Brilliant article Joe, not ashamed to admit it made me cry. Fingers crossed we are nearing the end of this nonsense. -
They probably didn't know who the sponsor was when the kit was designed tbf
-
That's your prerogative of course IMO there's enough negative news around without fans making up more
-
I know we're all upset but spreading misinformation won't help. Shirts get designed several months in advance of launch so the 3rd shirt absolutely will have gone through design and production phases. There are lots of great people at the club who work under difficult circumstances, many of them will have been working on the shirt and the launch for some time. Chansiri might be the man in charge for now but he isn't the entire club.

Purchase Request - 2x Away Shirts
PeaksOwl replied to EvanGeorgeParkin's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Ah, hadn't realised that. Assumed it was licensing like in art and photography where they had already paid a fee to use the trademarks and kept money from sales. -

You can get a remake of the green one (licensed and official) from the Terrace https://theterracestore.com/collections/sheffield-wednesday/products/sheffield-wednesday-97-away-retro-shirt-pre-order-2?variant=55086759805307 I bought the orange one from here last year, quality is decent although the material is not as thick as the original from what I recall -
Of course. But they were chosen because they had history. The Hollywood A-lister could have bought 20 clubs more convenient to travel to than Wrexham, but he understands the power is in the story and you don't get that without history. If we had someone who understood this and were marketed correctly we absolutely could get some big commercial deals.
-
Yeah, history is pointless. Definitely haven't heard anything about Wrexham being the oldest club in Wales or having the oldest stadium or owt like that. In all seriousness, history is more important than ever in the current football trends. How many teams are doing retro style kits, one off things with old badges, legends tours etc etc?

Any News From Middlewood Road Yet?
PeaksOwl replied to mark1948's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Windass played 44 matches last season, with 18 goal involvements. Name the player replacing that for free and paying less than 7k a week. Smith had 12 goal involvements and started only a third of our games. Again, who we replacing him with with the constraints we're under? -
And yet he'll be playing European football next season. Yes he was inconsistent but most young players are, especially the ones we've been able to get for the last few years. Really don't get the revisionist view when a player leaves.

Document Signed With Bidder - Staton
PeaksOwl replied to McRightSide's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We don't own the training ground so that bit at least can't be true. If you're a part time or zero hours contract person £30 isn't gonna see you through the month so would say this doesn't ring true either. -
Agreed. None of the financial records I've ever seen have the full number either, it's always displayed in thousands or millions. On top of that, our entire wage bill on the last accounts (including tax and pensions) was £21m, so unlikely that the HMRC contribution would be over £1m every month.

Is it really moving on now....
PeaksOwl replied to Prendo's boots's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
In any big company a major decision will go through at least this many people. Don't think this is an issue, especially if they're just investing/shareholders and will put people in place to run the day to day operations. -
Agreed. Was just answering the question about public accounts Vs due diligence info
-
The accounts that get published are an overview. Due diligence allows a buyer/their accountants/lawyers to view pretty much anything referring to the business and is subject to confidentiality agreements. This could be everything from wages of individuals to bills for suppliers to expense accounts. Free rein to go in and ask any questions about any aspect of the business, its costs and its operations and then use that to refine any further offer.

Josh Windass post match interview
PeaksOwl replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Only 4 players have scored more than him, and two of those are in sides who have been promoted automatically. He's contributed with 5 assists too and been captain on numerous occasions. I genuinely don't understand why some people don't rate him, think we'll be better off without him, or are convinced we can replace him for free with a younger player. -
Just What We Need - ANOTHER Fan Group
PeaksOwl replied to Nero's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I understand that. But saying that everyone should join in with the trust would make that problem worse not better. And would risk deprioritising the things those groups are working on. -
Just What We Need - ANOTHER Fan Group
PeaksOwl replied to Nero's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The trust aren't even united as one voice, evidenced by the fact the chair offered his resignation just two days ago because of internal disagreement. The new regulator will bring new requirements, and if we had one a fan advisory board should replace the current EP structure. The other groups do have purpose for their members. If you're not in any of them how can you judge their relative merits?
