  1. Portsmouth is a good hunting ground for us, so I reckon we could do quite well this afternoon and only lose 3-0! It’s all so depressingly pointless - literally!
  2. Nope! First game 1961! So I’ve seen enough troughs to know a peak has to begin again somewhere! Keep the protests strong and loud……and never lose faith, it will happen
  3. First three pts of the season and a new owner announced in the following week. Mid September, 2025 could go down as the most important date in modern SWFC history. C’mon you Owls……..2-1.
  4. Cheers to maddogbob for stepping up to the plate. Best wishes to all involved in the protests - make a helluva noise! Football? Ok if we’re playing I’m sure we’ll do our utmost to win and the fans likewise in their support of the team. Very strange (match)days!
  5. Two games in and so much positive emotion on display at the end of both of them. I’ll have to keep a box of tissues handy for match days if this keeps happening………to wipe my tears!!!!! can’t wait to see the scenes at the end of tonight with fans and players together
  6. Oh yes there is!
  7. Who’s coaching the goalkeepers? Charles will be itching to go for obvious reasons AND because he’ll be feeling he is just stagnating without any specialist coaching to help him work on improving his game !!
  8. All we have to do is get right behind him, STAY right behind him and wish him every good fortune. He deserves nothing less!
  9. F off you complete muppet!
  10. I started a thread on here about a month ago titled ‘Deliberate Demise’ - it got my best response ever at 4 pages ! It suggested that Daftone was intentionally taking the club out of business. The overwhelming consensus then was that even DC could not be that stupid or spiteful! I wonder if people might be having a change of mind about that. Surely what is going on now has to be a deliberately spiteful act?
  11. And I’m sure it does help……I was only teasing !
  12. “I just don’t care”………” I just don’t care anymore”……” I just dont care”……..the lady doth protest too much, methinks’
  13. My parents ran The Bradway pub and I remember sitting up at the counter on one of bar stools waiting for the delivery man to come through the door carrying a pile of Green Uns. If I’m right, I think they used to arrive about 6.30 - amazingly soon after the matches ended!
  14. FFS……..one of our best players and leading goal scorers. Thank God he’s still here! There’s only one back that needs climbing on and it’s not Josh Windass’
  15. I hope you’re right…….maybe the result of emotional exhaustion. But do you not have a shred of doubt that this is exactly what he is doing?
  16. Chasiri’s silence is extraordinary; here’s my take on it. I am becoming more and more convinced that DC is deliberately running the club into the ground. I know that defies all sense ( financial and common) but I reckon he is so pi**sed with the weight of personal disgust that he has engendered amongst the entire fan base that his narcissistic personality cannot cope any longer. As a consequence he has decided on a kamikaze course of action. His sole intention now is to ruin the club and see it go out of existence - if he can’t have it, then nobody can! He won’t sell, because he now has adopted the attitude that if he’s ’going down’, then he’ll take the whole club with him. Sorry, guys, but that’s my appalling view!
  17. . Keep tightening the noose. Thank you!
  18. I think it’s a smart bit of reporting by The Star. There’s nothing much to say on a Saturday, so lets just write something that keeps the pressure on Chansiri - well done boys, don’t give him a moment’s peace!
  19. First game attended in 1960! That was the start of my romance with Wednesday. Like all romances it has been an up and down affair; sometimes wildly passionate and hugely exciting and on other occasions frustratingly dull and even chronically boring. But it has endured! So I would look for Wednesday wherever I could find her and remain an ardent lover whatever bed she was lying in. Who knows it might even be more fun - renewing one’s vows, and starting a second honeymoon that could just lead to a new version of paradise!
  20. Great read! As was this, perhaps better known for the film /TV version but the novel is a beauty!
  21. Has to be David Hirst; as has been said, when fit and sober. (You missed out Ron Springett )
  22. My favourite sauce is chutney ( does that count?) At least it give you something to bite on!
  23. Seeing as it’s unlikely that we’ll hear anything before Christmas, I got to wondering about preferences for Christmas dinner. Does it HAVE to be Turkey and cranberry sauce? Or what about: Pork and apple sauce? Lamb and mint sauce ? Beef and horseradish sauce ? Toad in the Hole and tomato sauce? Source or no source?
