Although the Club are not providing refunds, there is recourse for action via a Section 75 claim with your bank/credit card company. I don't understand why people who have paid by credit card (if you have) aren't simply not going and raising a claim. There is plenty of evidence of people getting their money back, and I'm 90% sure I'll get my £2k back for the tickets I've bought based on the evidence presented - including precedence of someone on here receiving a refund in April!

Why are you going to the first home game?

Suggest speaking to the Trust pal, they've received some legal advice and can maybe point you the right way. -
Not necessarily watertight. My argument is that the T&Cs cover only refund requests made during 'the season'. This isn't defined by the Club but is defined by the EFL of which the Club is a member. Under the Consumer Rights Act sections 68 and 69 where the T&Cs are not transparent (and potentially open to interpretation) then the act should fall in favour of the consumer. On this basis, the Club has not clearly defined when refunds are or are not allowed, and this can gives rise to justification for refund. This is on top of other arguments under other CRA sections that refer to the bought product or service no longer being representative of what was originally sold. Furthermore, the Club already has precedence for issuing refunds for next season: someone on here showed their email confirming the Club refunding them in April. Combined, even if the Club refuse a refund, if gives strong ammunition for a refund from the bank. This approach is based on legal advice which my family obtained, and has since shared with the Trust - including templates. If you want a refund, don't just accept the Clubs view, utilise what consumer protection we as 'customers' have and get your money back!

Cheers pal, super helpful! I've responded to the Club's the initial rejection on the basis that: - Clause 7.1 in the T&Cs is restricted to the commencement of 'the season'; this is outside of the season. - Section 68 & 69 of the CRA find in favour of the consumer where there is a lack of transparency regarding terms. - That you refund has already set a precedent, in that it was purchased and refunded prior to 'the season' starting. Even if the Club again rejects this argument, great evidence to get the justification for a refund through Section 75.

Looking Forward To It
TimoWerther replied to south_wales_owls's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Excellent post. It's been so Wednesday this past 20 years for fans to ignore poor running of the club for the fact you go and support the lads for 90mins every other week 'because that's what we do'. Balls to that, I'm getting a refund through the credit card company if the club don't refund me, sick of being treated like dirt and won't put up with it. -
My email (to be sent) will be making the following claim: Clause 7.2 of the Terms & Conditions states the following: 7.2 Season Ticket purchases are non refundable and no refunds will be given under any circumstances at any stage throughout the season. The English Football League (EFL) defines 'season' in the EFL Regulations as: the period of the year commencing on the date of the first League match and, for each Club, ending immediately after the completion of the Club’s final fixture of the League Competition or, if the Club is participating in the Play-Offs, the final Play-Off match for that Club. The 2025/2026 season has not currently commenced, and therefore this clause does not cover the period defined as 'Closed Season' by the EFL, which is not defined by the T&Cs. Probably gets rejected like everyone else, but will still be filling a credit card claim on this basis for the four I've bought.

THE PROTEST MARCH - Photos and VIdeos
TimoWerther replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Apologies, would have been me...had 80 that I forgot to take to Blackburn, been sat in my office for ages and thought I may as well get rid of them now! -
Only a couple of comments today handing them out. 'Why bother he's not in the country' 'I'm there to watch football' Totally myopic perspective on things. Sad that Pompey fans understood why we're doing it better than our own supporters. However, for the most part, the tide has turned!

Will DC be there tomorrow?

It's simple, you know Chansiri Sell Up and just go. -
Said it before the game, Bannan rarely turns up against United. Had a shocker today, as did the rest of the team as there was no composure and a fear about our play.
-
Even better, to the tune of Yankee Doodle: Chrissy Wilder, Bitter Blade, He's super f****** moany, Cries at home in Danny's shadow, Sticking of Peroni.
-
Alessio De Cruz, who had no footballing ability and was a lot worse than Ugbo.
-
1-0 with a 90th minute Ugbo winner is inbound...

Do you have or own a business?
TimoWerther replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
My partner will likely be in touch, her business is looking for someone and I remembered this thread! -
Understand all this and its bang on. Those in the group are doing this at the same time as running a job and looking after their family, and can only do much with the time and resources available to them. Some of the social stuff would be excellent, but without someone who is good at this stuff giving up their free time to do so, how can they get going with this? Would they give up free time when they could be getting paid for doing the same elsewhere? Something simple like the leaflets has still taken a load of organising, and it's still dependant on people volunteering to hand them out...which as it seems from this thread, there clearly weren't enough of us to give them to people who wanted them.
-
Just from my experience today, well done to Rob and all the lads and ladies involved in arranging this. Handing them out toqards the Kop, had a fair few saying well done for doing it, a few queried whether this was this was the 'best time' to be doing it (but non confrontational), and most people who didn't want them were nice enough in refusing. However there were the odd few that were absolute weapons: pushing me, grabbing leaflets out my hands a throwing them into some blokes garden...proper garbage behaviour. The likes of TWS are encouraging this type of behaviour, and it stinks. I'll keep supporting 1867 Group activity, as they seem to be the only supporters group who want a long term future for the club. Seems lots of people are happy enough with another couple of stop-gap signings to tie us over another couple of months. I want better for the club, I just would wish so many others would look at the facts of Chansiri's reign and want this too.

Is it possible to get a decent striker for under £5m?
TimoWerther replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We rarely take the risk that other clubs do in signing lower league players with potential to develop and sell on. The only one I can think of in this mould was Grant Holt: he got a decent run at Rochdale after we sold him for what we paid (about £50k?) and from there he kicked on. Gassama and Musaba are sort of in that mould but we'll loss signficant sell-on fees to Monaco and PSG...and only if we don't do what's normal under Chansiri and let them leave for nothing when their contracts expire. -
If their SAG was anything like ours that upper tier would have 200 capacity. Complete death trap.

A couple of people in the 'Windass Worldie' thread have mentioned you can see a few Derby fans applauding the quality of the strike. Have you done similar yourself for opposition strikes either at Home or Away? Two that stand out for me are John McGinn's at Villa Park in 2018/19: it was a brilliant volley and you couldn't help but clap the technique to do that. Another one at Home was against PSV in the 2-2 pre-season game 2000/01...I think it was Ernst Faber who smashed one in from 35 yards. Might have helped there was nothing riding on it!
